Yeah, that would be my only concern - not trying to snap an output shaft in the middle of nowhere.

I wonder if the tundra outers have the same spline count? Never messed with one before.

yes they do. Tundra CVs are what all LT 4x4 tacomas run.

Tundras have a 6 ball bearing true constant velocity joints. So they are stronger.

be cheaper than RCVs..but probably would break still with 35s with chains buried in snow up to the doors haha

Didn't have to break the chains out, managed to drive out in 2wd even. Amazing what 35s at 4psi will do.

Yes sir, original axles with 160k on them. Haha probably should have seen that coming.

Yeah, everything you can imagine related to electricity is in the Toyota wiring catalog. What are you trying to do?

Trust me you don't want to pay $5 per pin.

Yeah I've read a couple reports like that, I remember them being ridiculously expensive too.

That's up at Tonga Ridge, pretty nasty conditions now with the snow level rising. I'd wait till the next storm to head back up there.

Thanks, that was straight Cascade concrete though, no pow to be seen lol

Heater core was acting up, or fan was cutting out?

I'm always down to go wheeling, let me know if you're heading out somewhere and I'll see if I can swing it.

I've got quite a few big ideas with my truck once its back up and running. I'm just wanting to find bare pins without wire so i can have nice clean harnesses. I Don.t like having to Heatshrink pigtails onto larger runs of wire. Anything I add aftermarket I plan on making factory looking harnesses too. (I'm just weird like that)

Thought i passed you out by Preston/Fall City after work the other month. If a weekday/or weekend works im down. At work if wind or rain is to brutal we leave.

I apprecate the offer and not going solo would be nice.

Sounds like a heater core, 15min into the commute on 1st ave temp gauge spikes after the fan goes cold. Tapped it a few times, and the fan blew super hot air.

I feel ya, it's just way too expensive to buy the Toyota pins. If you re-pinned a 24 pin connector you're looking at about $240 only in PINS.

Some of the connectors are generic, some are proprietary. You're really at the mercy of Toyota.

No prob. Both do well charging, though the 1045 definitely charges faster (I think it's a 2.4+2.4A vs 1.0+2.0 or some such). Post pics once you get it all installed!

I've been in talks with our Field rep about finding out the manufacturer of our pins and connectors. hes trying for me, I've found one style and they're $0.18 a pin.. cheaper if you buy bulk.. that i can stomach. The pin ive found is the one thats in quite a few of the connectors in these trucks under the hood. notably the Coil pack connectors. The brand is Yazaki series 090II Sealed series.

That's the OES - Yazaki. They do sell the pins at a much much cheaper price than Toyota does, but a lot of the first gen connector housing are discontinued. You also have to buy them in bulk - like I would need to order 60 power mirror connector housings to qualify.

Housings shouldnt be too hard to source out of the junkyard for me in decent shape if they're in the interior. Its just the pins that I'm worried about. Alot of the old Camrys and corollas in the local LKQ and pick an pull here... prime for the picking. Plus i have a big collection at work..
