    that would be a useless exercise. if, on the other hand, you wanted to drive my truck, i would help with that. you won't be able to see much of anything compelling in a video.

    I read that this tune can let you start in 2nd without slipping too much. And you can run in 3rd gear at 10mph. Is this true?

    oh, i see. i thought you were just looking to get a sense of the linear vs. non-linear throttle or something.

    you can start from a stop in 2nd and you'll need to slip plenty to do it. "slipping too much" is subjective and hard to say what's too much for you. i can definitely work through low speed traffic under 10mph much more easily with the tune, no question. i don't know the exact speed, but under around 10mph or whatever you're gonna lug. it's an rpm thing, not a torque thing. the motor's rotation needs a certain speed or it will lug regardless of the torque. maybe that's around 5-7mph or so, not sure.

    and i'm not dumb enough to run my truck in 3rd at 10mph, almost, but not quite. why would you even want to?

    theres a spiffy little camera app that'll record 1/8 1/4 and 0-60 and 60-80 times and "G force" etc if someone really wants to see if there's some subjectively objective data lol

    I wouldn't want to drive that slow in 3rd either but I remember I read a post from a member stating that he had forgotten to downshift and left his truck in 3rd and was able to accelerate without lugging.

    iirc he was referring to 2nd, not 3rd. but maybe we're remembering different things. either way don't use 3rd at 10mph. no MT operator needs to explain that one lol.

    That was probably me you are referring to. Yes one day I came around a corner in 3rd gear and didn’t realize it until I went to shift to 3rd and was already there. Probably more like 15 mph or so. I was on a phone call and not paying attention which is how I missed shifting to second.

    There’s much more torque in the low end with the tune. Very noticeable in parking lots and stuff. I can cruise around in second and not worry about it.

    The slow down, start again (like coming to a stop sign) typically required a downshift to first in the stock tune. Now I don’t remember the last time I did that. First is used much less often.

    Tunes in and running the 87 octane. I'm not going to comment on the tune until I try it for a week. I also want to try the 91 tune but need to wait until the 87 octane gas is gone. I'll switch back to the stock tune to get a true feeling on the differences then report back.

    @OVTune, can we get a timeline update on 1.03B for M/T?

    1. Is 1.03B M/T being tested by users currently?
    2. Do you intend to have another truck on the dyno to verify the new tune before release?

    FWIW, I saw your post over in the dev thread explaining the difficulties and whatnot WRT 1.03 for A/T, and understand your stance fully.
