Thanks Jacob. There are a lot of considerations and no one perfect solution i have discovered, (as in all things in life). Initially I was looking at an ARE cap and then mounting crossbars, however; in looking at what load a fiberglass cap is rated for weight, both it and Yakima bars rate at like 150-200lbs. By the time a RTT is added the weight capacity is already bumping or close to max before adding any people. I do expect this weight limit to be estimated low as for the camper shell companies or the rack companies to protect themselves, but bowing out a fiberglass top and it cracking over time and not being a warrantied item at that time has the potential to cost more for repair or replacement than say an Alu-Cab top. I like the solutions where I can stand up inside after deploying... like the Habitat or GFC, but what I realized today was that the Habitat would require removing anything that is mounted on top before deploying would severely hamper the convenience and efficiency. The cap and rtt is nice b/c I can remove the rtt when not in use... but lacks the ability to stand up in it. What I may do is get a Softtopper and test that out to see how much space I need with how much gear I will carry. I literally pack out my Subaru Forester and a roof top carrier with all my camera gear. My last trip out west I had to sleep in my front seat sitting straight up b/c of so much gear that I couldn't even recline my seat back more than an inch or so... :-D

I am getting a DCLB OR. It was ordered this month and should have it mid-March.

Ha, Ha... LOL!!!! When don't I not think about this and everything else I want, (I mean NEED to do) :) I am hoping to hear back from some guys here who have the BP-51 and the Kings to ride along to see how each of them feel and then make that decision. That is first on my list, then decide on tire size and rims. If I go with 285's I think I am going to need to do a CMC from all of what my research has found.

In my dreams John - that's the only place I will be able to get those. That's my favorite truck on TW. And the guy has done it all himself.

    ^^^this.

@Superman910 has brand new Kings, @Coot83 has Kings... @Arcticelf took off his Icons (now MY Icons) and put Kings on

@fatfurious2 has Icons as well (and his all the full blown big baller Icons) as opposed to my regular / non remote res Icons

@DOUBLLD is "the guy" for CMC (and most other "too difficult for driveway" stuff in this area) (and it doesnt hurt that while he does it, you can stare at his twin turbo LS1 swapped Tacoma) I can personally vouch for his skill and craftmanship.

@ilubtimmyhos is our resident electrical guy

and I'm fairly adept at sourcing parts on the cheap...... so as you can tell, we'll easily have all of our basis covered

I'll probably toss the winch on this weekend and then watch the Super Bowl in between doing a shit load of homework... but let me know when you want to do it

If you buy the beer and cheese steaks we can set up a King demo and CMC here. @fatfurious2 has one of mine.

 no worries man. glad to send work your way. you take care of all of us... so I'll happily send business your way

what some consider therapeutic, others consider maddening. haha

When I was in Denver, I commissioned Corey (owner of InsainFab) to design / build me a bumper and I sent him some pictures and stuff like "I like this style hoop" and "this style fog light" etc....

and he came up with a great looking bumper exactly to my specifications.. spent a good amount of time w/ him at his shop and he makes awesome products. I think you'll be very happy with anything you buy from him. He takes his time to perfect his design in making anything (even something as small as a CMC plate)
