I have heard stories that Fox's are a pain in the ass to adjust on the truck. I got the king "T" handle that I use in conjunction with the standard punch that comes with the shocks. I spray just a little bit of penetrating oil on the threads and then start wrenching away on truck. I have adjusted my kings about 5 times on the truck with LT. That is solid that the coilovers are the same though so that is a big plus, I found that my kings were almost on point from the factory when I went to put them on with my LT kit. I initially tried to soften them only to crank them back up after they broke in properly. You might be good height wise with your fox's from the factory if you are looking to get around 3 inches of lift.

 

The foxes were nowhere near close. I could easily rotate the spring by hand with where the spanner nut was set. Installed them without adjusting at all because I thought it'd be a quick setup on the truck, but it was maybe 3" away from the McNeil 2" fenders with no lift. Had to adjust it about 2.8" or so from the top thread in order to level it with the rear which is at 3.5". Going to replace the spanner nut I tore up when I install the TC kit, so that's another plus. That aluminum got shredded when I yanked on the Fox 2.5 spanner. Kind of shocked at how easy it ripped out.

The king setup definitely looks better with the holes you can fit a punch in like a spoke and rotate. The only reason I went with Fox is because numerous reviews that break down the internals, the Fox components had a much nicer finish and were beefier.

 

Yea man the game of leveling out the ride can get old until you find the sweet spot. Fox has the same spanner holes that kings do right, if not I could see that being a major pain in the ass when working around the resi line. Kings can get torn up from their aluminum caps too, partly why I use two punches to help distribute the load and less stress on the individual holes.

 

Oh yea, when I had 33's the gaps on my fenders were significant as well since 33's are small for the clearance they make. When I went to 35s, obviously the gap closed up much more. I never thought I would go with 35s, but damn if they don't fill out and balance the look all the more with them along with the wheeling benefits. My MPG sucks ass though.

 

Fox is just a traditional spanner with raised half inch edges the spanner hooks. The only hole in them is for a stopper which is an allen machine screw. When I put pressure on them the steel spanner pin sheered off the aluminum contact point on the nut. Also had to grind about a quarter inch off the spanner to fit it inside the coil bucket. Should've just stuck with the tried and true Total Chaos + King setup lol. Not a whole lot has went smooth with the front suspension so far except for the CV's.

Mine is like this with only one spanner ring.


I'd like to replace it with one of these if I can.

 

I love my 35's. They looked like a little too much tire at first, but once I put the glass on and cut the bedsides it's perfect.

 

Holy shit F that setup! Do your coils even have resi lines? I cant believe they would have that system for their coils as that will likely not work with a resi line trying to get around the coil bucket. What sucks too is the amount of area needed for that spanner is almost double the size of the standard punch spanner. The T handle from king is literally a punch with a 45 degree angled end to fit into the punch holes for added torque although they still can break off and die as I have killed two of them now due to over time useage. My one buddy didn't help though that wanted his kings crazy high on the preload on his OEM ones.

That's what they do sadly...there was an EPIC thread last week that had over 300 members viewing and grew to 59 pages in a few days due to them being negligent on giving a fellow member his refund back. The mods got involved and I assume at some point they got word from AP, but they eventually locked the thread.

I would argue anything that AP doesn't source out (like their famous leaf springs) I would be VERY hesitant on. Some members have requested that AP be evaluated as to whether they still satisfy the criteria to be a vendor on here.

 

They lost their vendor status.

 

Ah no way! Did they broadcast anything about them losing it? Haha now I can really talk crap!

 

I was PMing with one of the moderators and he said that they don't need vendors on here who don't resolve issues with customers.

Just thought I'd share an update. Finally got around to ordering the TC +3.5 race kit w/ heim joint uppers. Gave Pat @TotalChaos my info, and two days later these fellas showed up at the door. Unfortunately I won't be able to throw them on until June though.

 

It’s been a rough journey but man you can’t go wrong with that kit! Gonna be killer when you throw that on!
