Well whom-ever built the pyramids were a group with diminishing goals. The original plans showed them to be square..........

+1

The Bible makes more sense when you consider that it was interpreted by people of the time. They didn't know of the whole world and all the animals in it.

Noah's Ark Hoax Claim Doesn't Deter Believers

By Lauren Green
- FOXNews.com

Earlier this week a group of Chinese Christians held a news conference to announce they were 99.9 percent sure they had found Noah's Ark. Most likely, the claim is false, but that won't stop Ark enthusiasts from believing the biblical boat is out there somewhere.

Generally speaking, if scientists discover something they want it immediately confirmed by as many independent researchers as possible. The reason for this is that observed phenomena and experimental evidence are not considered factual to science unless they can be independently verified.

I'm sure that there is a wooden structure in a glacier up on that mountain -- several expeditions over the past 50 years have recovered artifacts. How convinced am I, as a scientist, that it's the literal Noah's Ark of a literally true bible? I would say that the probability of that is 0%.

What needs to be done is to send an international team of archaeologists up there to investigate. However, the government of Turkey may be thinking that more money can be made from an "Ark" than from the remains of an old Buddhist monastery or some such.

Oh, and just because the wood of a structure dates to 4800 years ago (if the dating is even correct -- independently obtained samples should be taken and tested in order to confirm this) doesn't mean that the structure was built then. Wood in many areas is a scarce commodity and is often re-used -- carbon dating tells when the tree died, not when the wood was used. There are places in the Desert Southwest where I can pick up a Bristlecone pine log, plane it down, and have a "5000-year old" board.

While true, there are stories from American Indians with very similar themes - floods coming in, wiping out most of humanity.

I wonder if any major flood (think of Iowa a decade back, or post Katrina) became an "end of humanity" fable?

Funny, btw, that the picture in the link shows penguins. Yeah, like Noah had time to go to the southern hemisphere to pick up everything down there.

The earth was different back then. Some scientist theory is that back then there was not often rain at all. it was not normal for it to happen, this is why they all laughed at Noah and thought he was crazy. it just didnt rain, and for there to be enough rain to flood the world Noah was thought to be crazy. The earth was watered with a great "dew" in the morning and most of the moisture was held in the heavens. when God caused it to rain the weather on earth went through a change to its current patterns.

Hey I'm not a scientist and am probably doing the theory an injustice through my explanation but just so you can think outside the box a little. Who are we to be trying to explain things God has done.jsut sounds silly to me

you need to brush up on your history. Man and dinosaur lived side by side for centuries until the great flood. Noah didn't have room for them so he had to leave them behind which is how the dinosaurs became extinct. it also explains the loch ness monster. the loch ness monsters is an ocean dino that didn't die during the flood but was trapped in loch ness. sometimes i feel like the only educated person on this site...
