When taking pictures of vehicles outside of car shows, I occasionally encounter people who are weirder than me...

Take for example this one time in June 2015. I promised my friend Mike I'd take him to diesel truck sled pull at the Buck Motorsports Park in Quarryville, which is about 80 miles away in Lancaster County.

Unfortunately, my parents didn't want me driving that far by myself (a little over a year later, however, I talked them into letting me drive to Carlisle for the Truck Nationals). I ended up driving, with Mike, to a car show in the middle of scenic nowhere (a town called Oley in Berkshire County), which was not as impressive as I thought it would be.

One thing you quickly learn going to car shows is which are worth driving forty minutes to an hour or more, and which ones are not!

    To be continued...

Thanks for asking! It’s a sickle and a cross. The roots of it go back to the Russian Revolution. The hammer represented the laborers and the sickle, the peasantry. This logo replaces the hammer with a cross to represent that the church always stands with the oppressed. The symbol represents the concept of Christian Communism as Jesus taught in the Gospels. Christian Communism is a theological and socio-political theory (more Economics than electoral politics). Acts 4:32-35, Matthew 6:25, are popular verses referenced to support that Jesus was anti-capitalist.

I didn't even need notice that was a cross instead of a hammer!

You want to see pictures I have of non-diesel and half-ton 1981-1993 Ram pickups? I've also got some pictures of Ramchargers, including a couple with Cummins 5.9L swaps!

So, I looked up area car shows on my iPhone and found a cruise night at a shopping center in Easton, which was pretty much on the way back home...

Mike and I ended up going to this show in Easton, but it wasn't terribly impressive either.

Mike found a video game store in the shopping center and went inside to browse, while I wandered around the parking lot where the non-show vehicles were parked. I found an all-new 2015 Suburban with New Jersey license plates (2015 was the first year for the current generation of Suburban), and two older Silverados.

I took some pictures of this seemingly unattended Suburban, seemingly without any issues, and then proceeded to take pictures and of the two Silverados.

While I'm taking pictures of the Silverados, this random middle-aged man walks up and asks "What are you doing? Taking pictures of license plates or something?"

He was not confrontational or hostile in any way, and he did not demand to know why I was taking pictures of his vehicle. I do get the occasional "third party interloper" who believes it is their job to police the parking lot, and I've been very good at dealing with these people in the past. I just respond politely and explain what I'm doing. They're more or less "that's cool" and go on their way.

This guy continues to shadow me while I'm taking pictures of the Silverados, and rambles on about this and that, but doesn't give any indication to that owns any of the vehicles I'm photographing.

I was very close to saying "Leave me the hell alone" when he suddenly and finally asked if the I'd been taking pictures of "The Suburban." Not "His Suburban," just "The Suburban."

I say yes, and he starts lecturinf on me about how I shouldn't be taking pictures of vehicles with people in them. At this point I was quite confused...
