    Your not supposed to run preload on the OME springs. If you use the 5100 adjustable shocks, keep them on the stock setting.

    So OME 885 on 5100's stock settings would give 3" lift on an Access cab?

    Unless you have a couple hundred pounds of crap hanging off the front like a big gnarly bumper and winch, etc, I would go softer than 885 springs. But yes, all the OME springs set at stock height on 5100s will give about that.

    I’m confused on this I just ordered 5100’s and 285/75/16 tires,
    And I’m going to use stock springs, what setting should I use on the front to clear the tires with the OEM springs ?

    Just so people are clear:
    OEM = Origonal Equipment Manufature
    OME = Old Man Emu

    Can I clear 285/75/16 with setting that is less then 2.5, what I’m looking for is more comfortable suspension.

    By "clear", do you mean No rubbing? If so, then No. You will have some rubbing. Nothing major at 2.5" of lift, but if you go lower you should buy one of these

    ok, on a similar note, i was thinking of getting some 5100's for the front to match my rear end. i was thinking of putting them on the lowest lift setting (.85"?) and still keeping my 3" spacer lift(bolts on top of strut) to make my truck sit back like it used to before my bumper was installed. what do you think? or should i get the OME 885's to go on the 5100's at the lowest lift height and spend more money:(?..... or just go with some real coilovers? damn this is confusing.:eek::cool:

    .85" setting + spacer =very stiff. stock setting + 885 coiles is a good idea.ToyTech now has a coil over kit (stage 1) for the 5100's.It's about $400.At 3" or less you'll need the swaybar relocator brackets.The max lift is 3.5".The Eibach coils are 2-3" longer than the stock ones. = less load on the springs,even better ride.

    So I got the 5100 bilstein adj. Shocks set at 2.5 with the stock coils and after installing an hybrid bumper(brute force) it dropped about 1/4-1/2 inch... I was thinking getting ome 885 coils to get my height back and for the extra weight I got up front would it be a good idea??

    the install went pretty easy. disconnect the sway bar link on both sides, drop the lower control arm down and remove the strut. Install in reverse order and just have a buddy push down on the knuckle so you can bolt the ball joint to the control arm back up. i have deaver aal on the rear
