Well they did advertise lower recoil somewhere. The large cal rifle vids were just fun to watch.

Light and high speed, that’s the reasoning behind the FN 57 & 17 HMR. They’re probably intended to run in the compact guns due to the shorter barrel it’s tough to build velocity. Reading their website sounds like the projectile might be a frangible.

In the 9 I carry 124-147s, I was impressed with the Federal EFMJs. They are a copper jacket with a polymer core backed by a lead base. The 9mm expands to about 3/8” in dia, very little weight shed so it drives deep. The 45 expands to 3/4” in dia, they don’t require a specific velocity to get em to expand so they have an advantage over an HP. They sell em as the guard dog self defense round, they’re tough to find sometimes though.

However bunch bleedin hearts felt it were cruel to shoot someone that may have an allergy to the polymer core

I usually give them as much support as I can. I could tell he was pretty green over the phone. Dealing with retirees is pretty different than the active duty folks and I don't think he had too much exposure yet. Us, with all our on-going health care issues and the active duty troops mostly going to the clinic for sick call. I actually got a call back from a nurse who told me to hit the lab at my convenience since she put in an order for me, so I guess I'll hit it Friday. One kinda bad thing about having an active duty clinic as my PCM, they turn over quite a bit so by the time I get a little history with a doc they pcs or get out.

I like the Federal HSTs. in a 230 grain +P .45 they grow to the size of a quarter.

That's one reason I like having my doc downtown... I've seen the same doc for 12 years now. What'd I miss? You ok?

It will be up there he asked if I wanted it down here LOL I have enough things that go boom the hooker is close enough to it that it won't matter to flesh or plated targets lol . It will just stay there and he will probably put it in my room on the rack it's a 70s marlin lever with scope and that is about all I can remember lol .

Installed new digital line voltage stats on my Dad's electric baseboard heat today after work. Very nice units with 1* + - differential. He mainly burns wood with electric as backup if he needs to let stove go out. Stats I replaced were the originals when house was built back in 1974.

Very doubtful. Old units had a 6* differential so at least Dad should be more comfortable and possibly save some $$$ on power bill.

I'm fine thank you. Just routine maintenance.

I had a quack in town but his office visits kept crawling up, more visits, lots of test, no results and he wouldn't tell me what was going on so I went back on base.
