I am 99% sure that Suburban was empty and not even running. Obviously I'm not going to peer through the windows of some random vehicle, so I have no way of knowing if there was anybody in the Suburban. However, it was pretty warm that day, the windows were up, and I doubt anybody would be in a vehicle with the engine off (and thus the A/C off).

I just deleted all the photos and walked away...

 

What did the Miata-stang have under the hood?

 

O-E 1.8L Miata engine.

On a whim, I hopped in my Tacoma, got on the turnpike, and drove close to an hour out to Chester County for this car show I'd found out about online...

The car show itself was quite impressive, but then I spotted this in the parking lot of the nursery across the street (the flower/plant kind, not the baby/toddler kind). I wandered across the street and found the owner, who was all too happy to answer my questions and let me take pictures!

 

That’s one bad rig. 360/auto?

 

Actually, I believe it was manual!

I've never seen another one like it, ever!

The only real indication of what lurks beneath the hood of this badass truck is a steering wheel and dashboard from a 1989-1990 Dodge Ram!

 

Paint it white and id roll it all day

Not white and it has an exhaust setup you probably won't like, but this is still one badass truck! It is a 1991 Dodge Ram 250 4x4 with 500K miles on the original engine. It has a 5.9L Cummins and 5-speed manual transmission. The A/C still uses R-12 and is ICE COLD. The owner of this truck was actually drag racing it at the Maple Grove Raceway during the Keystone Diesel Truck Nationals. The owner, a guy in his early twenties who was there with his girlfriend, was flattered that I took such an interest in his truck and gladly let me take all the pictures that I wanted. He told me that if I wanted to photograph first gen Ram pickups, I needed to go to the U.S. Diesel Truckin' Nationals at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. The rest is history...
