They gave me 36000 for my taco and 47000 for ford.
Its a supercab xtr 301a package with 6.5 foot box silver. 2.7L and 10 speed tranny.
No shuttering, clunking or vibes on test drive. Was kinda nice.

My buddy just traded in his 2016 F150 with the 2.7 eco. Had 90 thousand miles, HARD construction home building miles. Never leaked oil, gave him issues or anything. All he did was oil changes and tires for 2 HARD years. You’ll be fine. In such a massed producted vehicle, there is bound to be bad apples.

At least you walked away from the tundra. Arguably the worst 1/2 ton on the market, and the oldest platform. Buying a 2018 tundra is like buying a facelifted 2007.

I guess my 18 tundra is a dinosaur then eh? I’ll take that over my shitbox F150 that spent 1/3 of my ownership at the dealer. I’ve owned my tundra 3 months now and already surpassed the time it took my F150 to make its first visit.

It is in desperate need of a redesign. The body hasn’t really changed, the power plant is gutless, felt wider than my F250, laughable fuel mileage, and a laughable attempt at the TRD Pro. I spent a lot of time In the drivers seat. From towing my boat, to towing my JK on a uhaul trailer, towing one of my show truck (lifted silverado). I’ve had 2 F150s, my dad has probably had 10, and none of them had any issues besides my 2011 had a cam position sensor go at 60k. I am hoping the tundra is redesigned soon to catch up with the rest of the market.

The tundra has always been the outlier in the 1/2 ton market, and I like that. Sometimes simple outdated proven dinosaur is better.

Good luck! Hopefully they have worked most the kinks out by now like they have on the 2018 taco's. I had an early year ford, and had tons of problems, like you had an early taco and had tons of problems. I actually loved the truck besides it's reliability so I am hoping you have a pleasant experience!

I wouldn't worry about the motor like a lot of guys are saying, yes you might get a bad one, but most are good. Take a good look before you take it home at the truck, make sure things are all aligned how they should be etc...

1.) Here in NH pot holes suck, but never had this issue
2.) No howls from front end or rear end
3.) Do not have this nanny shit and glad I do not.
4.) I have heard a rattle from the front window when cracked hammering over said pot holes - meh
    5.) Never had this happen
    6.) Again, no howls
7.) I average high 21's to 22's MPG and on the REALLY cold negative 10' & teens - I got 19's. I would call my self a "spirited" driver so do my local cops :turtleride:
8.) I have a MT, so I shift when needed and this is a buttery smooth manual
    9.) see # 16
    10&11.)
12.) I work with my truck, tow, drive daily, some easy, moderate off-roading - no dents
13.) Huh - Synthetic or any new oil is not easy to see on the dipstick, but same as any other engine.
    14.) What did you do?
15.) Not on recall, still original
16.) Not on recall, but noticed two small spots less than 1" in diameter. Dealer replaced fluid, seal, bolts in less than a day. I had no issues, but due to this forum I took a look myself. Easy-peasy.

Overall, sucked you got a lemon, hope your new Tundra treats you well!!

Why do people feel the need to do this? His post didn't need a counter argument. It could stand on it's own.
