What about a filler between cabinets and crowne molding. Could make it blend or contrast with the cabinets. You could glass front and use that space for display.

In the midst of a refresh of my living room. Stripping wallpaper, fresh paint on walls & ceiling, new light fixtures, new window (a 4'x8' unit of 4 casement windows) trim and a few other little things. Wallpaper was not installed properly and is a bitch to remove. It's fighting me inch by inch. Tried various strippers and steam...nada. Aggravated with that, I got a jump on getting the new window trim stained and finished. Had to replace a short section of chair rail - so got a quick coat of primer on that. Back to wallpaper removal tonight.

Go all the way up to the ceiling. Otherwise you have a dust storage area... and wasted space. Done it both ways and way prefer the all the way up. You will always use the space.

Sorry for the delay, I've got 20.5" from counter to cabinet, and 9.5" from top of cabinet to ceiling. Forgot to measure actual cabinet size though. Am I the only one who doesn't like crown moulding? I always feel like it closes the room in more.

I would put crown molding on my crown molding. Grew up in a colonial home surrounded by colonial architecture in Philly area so maybe that's why. I guess I'm also a glutton for punishment and crown always pushes me just about to my breaking point lol. Any house I own is guarenteed to have crown molding somewhere and and built-ins in any available nook.

Landscaping question. I'm in the middle of redoing my backyard sprinkler system. Hoping to get it done in the next two weeks and should have grass shortly after. It's not a huge yard and I'm leaning towards a push (reel) mower or an electric push mower. Anyone have experience with either? Would honestly prefer an old school reel mower, but I'm worried it wont cut well enough to give me a manicured lawn. Grass will be a (hopefully) thick plush bermuda blend.

If you're going to push to cut your yard every 2-4 days (given that you are in Phoenix now the grass will be slow growing because of the heat so you can probably easily go 6-8 days between mowing) the reel mower will work great! Honestly where you get into problems with the reel mowers is when the grass is really long, in my experiences.

Yea, that's not gonna happen.... I could do once a week or once every 10 days.

Maybe consider electric if it is that small. We have a postage stamp sized lot that takes me less than 5min to do each yard, have a gas mower from my previous house and it’s a bit overkill. Didn’t use 1 gallon of gas the entire mowing season.
