Same. I'll very occasionally do shots when some of my younger friends are feeling their beer muscles, but usually I'd rather sip something decent instead. But, I will say that evolving to sippers instead of shooters lets me do shots without a chaser or a grimace now, for extra mancard points. I get to sit there and laugh while the 'kids' sputter and cough or gulp at a coke

I think you just about nailed it, keep it in the freezer and drink it as fast as possible. Then move on to something more enjoyable to drink.

I grew up drinking Remy Martin VSOP and Henny with my dad when I was younger so the taste of dark liquor never bothered me - what kills me to drink or even sip is that crappy cheap vodka/tequila. Clear liquor straight up kills me in general though - it's an instant hangover for me.

    What's a chaser? :D

Bourbon: I highly recommend trying Blanton's for anyone that hasn't tried it
Whiskey: JD or Jameson depending on mood
    Scotch: Macallan 12

Dammit guys now I want to go have a liquid lunch at home.

I did not realize the 3rd Gens don't have cubbies! Yeah the cubbies over the wheel well were useless, so I pulled them out and ran the wires through there. I need to find a nice way to seal them off again though.

Feel free to add me: BigMacMcCoy

Ardbeg 10y is my absolute favorite single malt scotch. It is smokey and peaty and will kick you in the chest. Makes Laphroig seem like Balvenie. Henry McKenna is my current bourbon. It is delicious and makes a wonderful Old Fashioned. I've got a bottle of 1920 Forrester that was given to me, but I haven't opened it yet.

Molly loves Makers, so we always have some of that floating around. I almost proposed on our first date when she ordered whiskey. It's about all I drink.

A whiskey meet sounds wonderful! There's a bar in Davis Sq called Saloon, which is an old speakeasy style place with a full page whiskey menu. They are known for their whiskey selection. Food is alright too.

Is the japanese whiskey that good? I've been thinking of trying one for awhile, I'm curious.

A whiskey meet and sip.....sign me up

If you like Jameson, try Teelings. First whiskey distillery to open in Dublin in over a hundred years or so. I prefer it to Jamo. It's got a little more flavor, but it is still that sweet syrupy Irish whiskey.

And yeah I'm craving whiskey too. Ugh. It's only wednesday! If it was tomorrow I could drink tonight and WFH Friday. Whiskey talk should be reserved for Thirsty Thursdays and Fucked-Up Fridays only.

Yeah, the 3g doesn't have those small ones but still has the other ones at the back of the bed. I could print out a black square piece to cover the hole, depending on if there is mounting hardware left it could be an easy drop in piece.

1920 Forrester is pretty good if it's what I'm thinking of. Tried some at a bourbon/whiskey tasting at my old job.

I was thinking of taking a piece of plywood, drilling a few holes through it to route the cables through, and painting it black. It could either be secured by double sided tape or a raised lip on the back that fits into the hole like the original. A 3d printed piece would be awesome! I may pm you about that.

I'm excited to open the Forrester and give it a taste! It was a gift from my girlfriend's sister!

Yeah, that would be stupid easy to put together and print; I can also print it in black so there's even less to do. Just let me know.

It's when you see a pretty girl at the bar so you take a shot for a little liquid courage to go to talk to her, but while you're taking your shot she walks away, so you chase 'er :D

If anybody has any Laphroaig that they don't want to drink, definitely leave it at the back of your freezer. Then bring it with you next time you're in Maine and I'll happily trade you a bottle of whatever flavored vodka bitchwater you prefer to drink for it  :stirthepot:

Ardbeg is decent, but I really prefer Laphroaig. With Ardbeg all I really get is very strong peat up front and I think it overwhelms the rest of the flavors; I don't notice as many on the back side as with some less peaty options.

Fair enough! It's a polarizing scotch. Just about everyone either loves it or hates it.
