See, your confusing what you want with what others want. Not everyone needs or wants to have a sky high truck.

 

There is also still the option to add the toytec coil spacer shim for another 1.5 inches. This is no different than adjusting the clips on a 6112. $180 on the spacer set and you are still $250 cheaper than the bilstein 6112/5160 set.

 

This shock/strut/coil is a huge upgrade from the 3rd gen stock suspension. Side by side it's waaaaaay beefier and the shocks are much higher quality.

It's nearly the same as the 6112/5160 setup which is an upgrade of 5100 Which themselves are an upgrade over stock.

I think your opinion leaves a lot to be desired.

Lots of people want to level their truck a little and add another inch or two of clearance and not deal with vibrations or other issues.

 

Your right, but it's what I HAVE not what I want or hope to get. But I've seen time and time again this exact setup being swapped out for something more capable. There isn't many Pro owners that run this and are still happy with it. Especially the front. 5160's Are pretty decent out back though even lifted.

 

Lots of third gen pro owners swap out the fox's for something better. There is always something better, but to some the best is not the overall goal, just better. Some of us aren't looking for much, and at the price these are being blown out at its worth a shot. Some may move on, others may not.

 

I will apologize too you guys though. I'm in here quarreling about something I'm not interested in.
And I do run 5160's out back with Dakars and I'm just mixing what I went through on suspension myself.

Thier clamps that bolt into factory holes, literally takes minutes.

 

I saw it in my research but can't find it now, but i'm thinking it was 550# or 600#.

 

So now you have two settings instead of the 5 you get with real 6112. I don't see the savings. If you buy from ARC, it's about 100 difference

 

Can we just all get over the back n forth and hear from someone who actually put this on a 3rd gen and got measurements?

 

I’m curious about this as well. Everybody references the 3rd gen as being 1” higher than 2nd gen. I just measured a 15 compared to 17. I measured ground to frame in 2 different spots and both were the same with same size tires. Measured installed coil length from top mount to lower bolt and both were the same. Everyone references center hub to fender height which will be different between the gens since the fenders are different.

I’m contemplating ordering the kit for my 16. It would be 620 after taxes from my dealer. Might wait another week and see if anyone has real world install numbers

Haha it's not about the lift... at least it shouldn't be. I roll on Kings with less than 1" lift up front, stock height rear and 265s. Is a way better setup than 3" 285s for what I do with my truck.

 

The Only scenario that's better is if you dont wheel.

Meh. If wheeling only includes extreme crawling where approach angles are everything then yeah sure. Otherwise, no. I didnt get my Tacoma as a dedicated crawler...not many do. Skipping the lift gets almost all of the performance while being way better on road. Sure you don't get the look but thats not what its about to me.

 

Well what's it about then? You'd get the same performance out of this kit for a 1/4 of the money you spent. Doing whatever it is you do.

 

It's about suspension performance. The suspension isn't there to create ground clearance. It's there to maintain stability over rough terrain. As far as comparing Kings to this kit, I'm gonna refrain in this thread.
