    Testamonial:

So, on the way to school today it's pouring rain. (Thanks to Ike passing by to the west) I'm completely stopped in traffic and I get rear-ended!! 2-car pile up behind me!! The car immediately behind me was a Toyota Matrix, which went straight under my bumper, lifting me 5-6 inches in the air, my rear bumper was about a foot away from her windsheild. Cops come, worried parents come, etc. and eventually it's time for me to try to get off her front end. I put it in drive and slowly advance forward to the tune of the most blood-curling metal-on-metal screech. I was so afraid of what may be damaged I drove all the way to school before I gathered the courage to go check. And guess what?! NO DAMAGE!! Apart from two vertical scratches on the bumper, each about an inch long, my truck looked the same as the day I brought it home. I was so proud. My mom too. The Matrix that hit me is likely totaled, if not the front end is going to need a total replacement, hood(which was crunched all up to the windshield), front bumper, headlights cracked, I'm willing to bet the engine was at least somewhat damaged. The cop estimated her damage at $8000 and he said it was a total guess, he was drawing on knowledge of previous crashes.

But anyways, thank you if you actually took the time to read my long-winded story, but I am DAMN proud to be a Tacoma owner and felt the need to share.

Good to hear you and your tacoma plus the other folks came out ok in the accident! Were your rear tires off the ground? Did you drive on the matrix hood  That's gonna leave a mark!

Thanks for the concern guys, and no, my tires were just barely touching the ground. After this I don't see myself not owning a Tacoma in my lifetime.:D I just wish people knew how to drive in the rain.

Glad everyone was okay however since you were not at fault I would still get a 4 wheel alignment out of the deal, plus you want to take your rig to a body shop just to make sure there are no problems.

    Update:
My Tacoma got checked out today, absolutely no underbody damage! Not even a cent will have to go into it after being in the front of a 3-car pile up. Says something about Tacomas IMO.:D:D

You know, the funny thing about our trucs is-you can chip the frikkin paint if your plastic watch knocks the door on the way in...you can make a dimple in the sheetmetal if you close the door with your elbow-but God help anything that penetrates the space of its skeleton! The foundation of a Tacoma is IMO stronger than the big guys-the frame is SO rigid on a 1st-gen (box-ladder with 9 x-members) that anything it contacts will certainly give first! There's virtually zero flex. Makes for a better chance of survival in a serious collision. It's just another attribute to add to the fact that the 1st-gen Tacomas are supertrouper muddafrikkin trucks!!
