I’ve never heard this. I’ve always been told new tires on the front. Proper braking traction > acceleration traction.

It doesn’t have anything to do with braking or acceleration. Newer tires in back means less chance of fishtailing.

I was driving back and forth trying to get unstuck. Shoulda stayed in @Tundra2Play's tracks a little better.
Shops worry about people fishtailing since they freak out and then wreck from lack of driving ability. I've always wanted my best tires up for better grip with braking and steering and if FWD acceleration. My last car was FWD and in TX they wouldnt put the new tires up front because of fishtailing. When I lived in Cinci they always put the new tires up front without me asking. I would always rather fish tail than have the front end just sliding/hydroplaning with no steering or brake control.

Yep, good tires in the front, bald ones in the back for smoky burnouts.:burnrubber:

That could be the dumbest thing I’ve heard this week. You can’t say braking and acceleration have nothing to do with it. Bald tires in the front (where majority of brake pressure is applied) will obviously not have the same traction as new tires, and increase chances of sliding. For the same reason, bald front tires increase chances of hydroplaning. “Because fishtailing”. Get out of here with that non sense. In case we need some logic behind it, you can always let off the skinny pedal to control/stop fish tailing. You can’t push the brakes harder when your sliding to stop faster.

Would anyone be interested in a Blue Ridge Overland Gear Tacoma Attic?

$50, pretty much brand new. Works great for storing jackets, caps, etc etc out of the way.

Will not ship, but can send it with @Zac of all trades when he comes down in a couple weeks.

Gets in the way of the woman's pony tail when she sits in the back seat with the baby, which she does pretty much all the time now when in the truck.

But if you don't have anyone always sitting in the backseat, it works really well for storing stuff and does not sag.

I tried making that argument with Discount tire a few yrs ago and they basically told me it didnt matter what I wanted or thought and they would only put them on them back because I was wrong about how the car would handle. I'm guessing they got sued at some point. Today nobody said a word about where the tires where being put and just replaced the one that wasnt holding air and put the spare tire on the wheel opposite side of the new tire.
