Anyone go up MET today? I read (over on pirate4x4.com) that someone (not the FS) recently plowed the upper part of MET.

Reasonable :) Doesn't get as cold as the midwest, doesn't get as hot as the south, and humidity is rarely an issue.

Hot as balls in the summer, wet cold in the winter, and miserable the rest of the time...except for about 5.5 magical days a year.

I guess that's why you live there and I don't. I payed my dues living in the central valley for almost 15 years. Brutal summers.
I can put more clothes on in the winter. But there's only so many clothes I can take off in the summer before I get kicked out of Home Depot for lewd behavior.

Just go a little east; the heat eases up the closer you get to the mountains.
I'm not a fan of the valley weather that Sac gets...

It's Taco Tuesday. Has anyone tried the trails up & round Downieville/Tahoe area? I was up there hiking this past weekend and its pretty barren; seems that wheeling season will be opening up earlier this year than normal.
