I've got some photos in there too; even I can't write that much :p. But it was sure fun going through all my notes and recalling some of the great times we had - I tried to capture a bunch of that!

Don't mean to steal your thunder at all.

Didn't steal it at all :) I'm sure I still will. Fun to do and also be fun to see the differences.

I get that just going through the photos. Fun times!

IMO, storytelling is a dying art form. I would encourage you to tell the story regardless of what Dan does.

Besides, if you don't, your ardent followers will be very disappointed. :p

We use BBcode from Flickr to post them. Always have.

However, it is odd that yours became TW attachments. They hadn't before. in fact looks to have only happened in the one post

Yeah, just sent a PM to tcBob to see what's up. This could be what pushes me to Flickr, I guess.

Flickr would mean it would be easy for me to incorporate your photos in my story :)

Yeah i don't see the attached file's part anymore :notsure:

I know if you add any photo that isn't through a code link(like flickr/PB or whatever) TW just DLs it and attaches it instead of referencing a random outside source.

idk what that means for you and onedrive though.

Yeah, it's a change in the last couple days, for sure.

I use bbcode from OneDrive as well, so not sure why it started working differently.

I mean, idk why that would change. It never did that for mine and i can't see it doing it to yours now either..

or maybe its just in the code i guess i should look.

Yah, but would they make an exception for Flickr? Maybe. We'll see what tcBob says - I'd hate to have to go back and update all 1000 of my pics.

More off-topic - is there a way to "update" a photo in flickr if I make changes to it after the initial upload? (like, if I blur a plate that I forgot to blur on first upload) OneDrive is nice that way - replace a pic with a new file of the same name, and it "just works."

you can replace yes, but i think it breaks the link. So..yeah. Though im uploading direct through LR. Maybe if you did it just through the site it wouldn't break the link. That said, some of flickr's features are super annoying..

and yours are tw attachments now:

    tubrodb photo.jpg

Mine are not though and are still flickr hosted.

Yeah, just the post yesterday got converted to TW attachments. Never happened before; it's got to be some new code in the forum. Hope I can get that reverted :)

I know in Lightroom if you have the flickr account linked to LR and you modify a photo. If you go to the flickr library that that photo was in it will be "marked to republished". If you publish it it take the same place as on flickr's page, though the name may change. Like when i export i name them "The Detour". From there it goes"

    The Detour
    The Detour-1
    The Detour-2
    ect.

So if i was reuploading "The Detour-56". It's name gets changed to "The Detour" or whatever order of succession it got uploaded in.

Which i think break the link because the name got changed.

I can test this tonight to see though for you.

For me, there are a few bits to this:

    1.
the main thing is that I like to be able to edit a photo and have it "update" wherever it's been referenced. That's not generally a problem for my own posts, but it is a problem when someone's quoted my post and replied/asked a question (usually related to the picture).

In the future, if someone looks at that pic in the [ quote ], it'll be wrong (if I've updated the original); where it wouldn't be if they all referenced the external src.A good example of this is when I accidentally posted a pic with Mike's plate not blurred. I was able to blur it in the src, and then there were no more unblurred copies to worry about, even in replies.

    2.
I also like to use the pics on the external server for multiple sources (TW, family albums, etc.)

    3.
There probably is some bit of me that likes control over my content. That's the principle thing that you're referring to. In general, I'm really good at leaving content up once I've made it public - I've got stuff I posted to reddit a decade ago, still available. I do get it that not everyone is good about that though.
