Well its everyones favorite time of the year!! Ballin on a Budget aka Tax Season.
exactly. I lived in the panhandle for 12 years and applied that policy often. that being said i know a lot of people that own land up there and would play dumb and say i thought this was part of " name " property, im sorry ill let myself out. and they would usually shoot the shit and give me permission to cross their property without asking from then on.

Ok I stand corrected by my own opinion. Jim from Bastrop CAD ( https://www.bastropcad.org/ ) called me back. Here is the low down on that piece of land and the roads on it according to him:

Back Story from Jim @ Bastrop CAD:

    A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away........oh wait sorry wrong group.......:D :D :D :D

Jim said many years ago a developer came in, cleared the land to make the road system that you see now on Google Maps / Earth leaving the roads unpaved as intended. The developer then sold lots off of these roads to individuals/family's for them to build on. Some started the building process by pouring a pad when the city of Bastrop stepped in and stopped them from going further until the roads were paved. The roads were never intended to be paved from his account by the developer and therefore the development stopped as the city wouldn't allow it to continue. So people were stuck with land they owned but couldn't build on it.

    As of Today:

Jim stated that the plots of land off of those roads are PRIVATE, but the roads themselves are PUBLIC. If you stay on the roads themselves you're not trespassing. If you decide to make your own trail off of one of the roads clearly marked on Google Maps then you're potentially trespassing. ( I specifically asked him if the roads are public and he said "They are public"). They cross over between what is considered city limits and county and from his understanding there is some work going on outside of the city limits off of these roads but within the City limits of Bastrop no development can happen until the roads are paved. He also mentioned there is a known "Homeless Camp" out there which somebody earlier in a post mentioned.

***** In no way did I mention that a "group" or "club" of off-road enthusiasts wants to go out and explore these roads!!!! Just want to make that abundantly clear to everyone. Please also drive these at your own risk. Feel free to call Bastrop CAD and ask for the mapping department if you would like to get the information he provided me for yourself. *****

You have closed one can of worms and opened another.
Regardless, it will now see an influx of traffic.
