Looks like everyone is pretty spread out in here. Would be very very interested in a camping / fishing trip. I don't have much freshwater tackle but that could change.

We usually look for water temp around 65 degrees... we've started catching them as early as mid February, but they start spawning in march. Hoping the water level comes up some soon, or brush and blow downs will be hard to come by.
My dad has a 19ft Starcraft fishing boat. He let's me use it when I want to (as long as he isnt). Don't really have many other friends that are patient enough to crappie fish with me though.
I've looked at kayaks. . A lot. It looks like fun.. but that intro $$ is killer. Gotta buy the Yak(I'm kind of a big guy, I'd need a ten or twelve foot), paddle, bed bars for the truck (dcsb probs), etc..

Joe is planning an eastern seaboard trip or something and me and @dan0mite were talking in his thread of getting together for something whenever @Blackout14 actually has his trip plans :boink:. We all have yaks so we were thinking something like that. I suggested some fishing on the santee cooper chain.

Rent, man... I got tired of paying someone else's mortgage. And now I have an excuse to actually buy a boat that's not a canoe! lol

The problem is she gets car sick so she'd be bored for a long time while I'm out wheeling.

The Basspro fs12t and fs128t look like really nice entry rigs just to get you started. Then you could step into something like Joe has a Hobie PA or I have a Jackson Cuda HD

Well I don't know what to tell you. My GF was going to go with me to the AOP trip until she looked at her schedule at work and 3 other people have that weekend off. She really wants to go which I like.

That or renting a few different ones before taking the plunge! Daily rentals are pretty cheap all things considered.

Sadly most of the rentals around here are the cheapo just hobbyist type or whitewater even down at the beach no one really rents something decent for fishing

AOP is an awesome trip. Went with the SC crew last year and had a blast.

I also know a Striper guide on Hartwell that has a center console tritoon. He's put us on fish every time we've gone out with him. Might could put together a trip this summer.

That’s a bummer...down here the cheap ones are plentiful but highend yaks can be found.

Yeah if you look at this trip it was orig. the FL boys but now the SC and us NC guys are joining and then the TN crew and buch of guys from all over so it should be really cool! I am not into the crazy hardcore stuff and wanting to beat my truck all up as it's my DD and only vehicle but should be a cool get together all together run some trails maybe ride with some guys on the harder stuff camp and BS
