Saw one of those the other day up by our family's lake house on lake Moultrie with twin Yamaha 250's. That just seems crazy to me, but you get to the fish faster :notsure:

There is one company that is putting twin 527s on them it's hitting over 70mph. My old bass boat I had tweaked out and hit the 90s that shit is crazy scary. I can't imagine it in a heavy pig that isn't agile!

Scary as hell since those things corner like a cinder block. Rented one during a bachelor party and that thing was useless in anything other than a straight line and it only had a 90 on it.

My dad used to have a 24ft pontoon that had a 75 mercury on it. Soooo sluggish. . You about have to max the motor size on them to get any speed.

That's why they're party barges. You're not getting anywhere fast so you might as well have a few beers with the 15 people on the boat. But they obviously make great fishing platforms, that and they don't draft much water.

Great thread! Unbelievable how fast it's growing!
    I have a 16 ft jon/bass boat.
I mainly fish the Shenandoah river and local lakes here in northwestern Virginia but also have fished for redfish in Murrells Inlet and bass in the Waccamaw river while on vacation in SC

I love fishing for reds. Those fish bite so hard and are real fun to fight if you get a good sized one.

I love them on top water even more fun watching their whole body come out and just slam down on the lure. They are my favorite fish to catch.

Speaking of fishies if you're into patches check these out. He's done a red, sail, bass, and mahi. He's going to releasing all the freshwater trout soon. All the patches have an american flag theme too.

Well this thread blew up.

I've always wanted to check out Portsmouth Island. I've heard it's awesome, I've also heard the bugs are absolutely awful, to the point of misery. I'm sure that always depends on wind/weather/time of year though. But I'd definitely be down for a trip to check it out if something got put together.

And you sir, just cost me money. Had to pick up a Red and a Largemouth and a sticker pack. Couldn't resist. :bananadead:

Oh I don't freak out about bugs. It's part of being outside. But I've talked to people that say it's like swarms of biting flies and mosquitoes some times of the year that's unbearable. Either way, I got some bug spray.

And I stay out of the patch thread for that reason. :p

My dad has a 21’ Carolina Skiff for Lake Anna but it’s been sitting in the driveway for a while since we haven’t had much time to go fishing. He also has a 25’ Parker in a “Boatel” in Virginia Beach at the Little Creek marina.

Top picture is ours, bottom is borrowed from google (pretty much same model but without a t-top)BD766C15-246D-48B2-838A-E4A8727324B1.jpgAC93A94E-9D2D-4C26-BD40-E9D45638D282.jpg
