    IT LIVES!

Picked it up from the shop today two flexplates and a torque converter later. Boy oh boy what a roller coaster the past two weeks have been. Shifts fine and no more squealing from a broken flexplate.

The eight months that have passed since I started collecting parts to do this conversion have been chaotic, I'm not truly four wheel drive yet (no rear driveshaft) but hey it says 4WD on the mudflaps and that's good enough for me.

I also get to try my new rollbar!

To truly beat the rust you must build a frame out of aluminum or stainless steel.i would say carbon fiber but can you imagine wheeling with that lol

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Stainless still rusts. Unless is 300 series... but you’d have to have deep pockets to afford that. And you’d have the heaviest taco known to man. Lol

Galvanising the frame would make it pretty rust resistant. Works for the Land Rover folks pretty damn well

Plus many of those alloys lack the strength of carbon steel.

Ya know.... if you’re gonna keep the chrome mirrors, the chrome rack doesn’t look terrible, in those pictures, in my opinion.

You know the chrome on the roll bar is growing on me. Unfortunately the chrome is beyond repair - the original owner had it plastered with decals and it's baked in the sun since 1985. It's also flaking off in some places.

I'd totally keep it Chrome if I could
