LOL yeah totally normal. You have no problem with your truck. Those messages are kinda generic when they pop up

PTS must have foot on brake to start engine. no foot, ACC one push, no foot ON two push. just like with a old fashion key. Page 190 in manual

Thank you!!!!! So you are saying that if I push the button ONCE (but do not start) AND TWICE I do not push my foot on the brake to start? So basically I would have to push the button a THIRD time with foot on brake to start? Thanks again!!! I can sleep a little better now..

    Ok, let me clarify.

    1) Push once ACC (no brake to start)
    2) Push Twice everything electronic kicks in (no brake to start)
    3) To start I would hit the button a third time to shut everything off, and THEN push the brake pedal and hit start?? Thanks.

    huh? keep it simple.
    1) Get in, foot on brake, push button, put in gear, drive.
    2) If you wanna listen to the radio without the motor running, foot off brake, push once. bam! ACC mode radio works, lights, etc.
    3) No real reason to have in ON mode without motor running, maybe to reset oil reminder or use wipers, thats no foot on brake, push twice, once more turns it off.

99% of the time you need to do number 1.
    .09% of time number 2

Ok, so to clarify, if I was on #2 above and wanted to start the engine, how would I proceed?
If I was on #3 above and wanted to start the engine how would I proceed?

Sorry for the stupid questions, never had a push button start on a vehicle. My FJ was key... thanks again.

Should be able to just put your foot on the brake and push the button again to start in any mode. won't start without the brake though.

So by doing that I get the warnings, but I can just ignore them? Is that what you are saying? Thanks.

Yeah, no different than turning the key to ON and having the dash light up with all the lights, this just has a screen with words. Now if it doesn't crank or start, that would be an issue. You should really be starting the engine with by hitting the button once with foot on brake when you get in the truck. Cycling through the ACC and ON modes isn't needed and confusing. Only use if you need power without motor running like for the radio. And even then don't be surprised with it shuts off after 10 minutes of listening to radio without motor running. Battery saving feature.

You were able to replicate he 'dealer service' message?
At anytime, do you hear a buzzer?

So are you saying that the "Visit Your Dealer" should NOT be coming on?

When I go in to have my second key fob programmed, I will bring it up and show them. Hopefully they will tell me if it is normal or not...

I just tried it in mine.
I do not get a 'dealer service message'.

If there is a problem, it's probably either the stop light switch or master cylinder pressure.
Acceleration position sensor should be eliminated since I'm sure you're very conscious of not fat footing it.
Vehicle and wheel speed sensors should be eliminated since you aren't in motion.

If they tell you it's normal, make them show you on one off the lot.
Like I said, I don't get a "dealer service' message when I try it.

I don't mean to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I just want you to be safe.

Thanks. The msg seems to go away if I restart the truck. If I start in ON or ACC I get brake warning and the override msg. They seem not to show up again if I restart the truck normally. Hmmm... this sucks, only have less than 200 miles on this thing...

I did notice if I pumped the brakes in park I get all kinds of warnings and the pedal gets hard, they go away once I release the brake, I assumed that it was due to low manifold pressure on the power brakes? Not sure if related or not.

Ok, found the problem... shit... at least I do not see any damage... the amp remote kick on was tied into IGN 1 under the dash. So I figured I would pull the double fuse holder and put the OEM fuse back in. While under the seat area I noticed that the amp light was still on... soooooo it would appear that the 12+ power wire and or REM wire might have a frayed wire and were touching each other at the power lock down screw assembly on the amp. It appears it was back feeding into the IGN 1 circuit even when the truck was off. Will look at that tomorrow. Needless to say, I started it in all the different modes and no more errors. Now I hope the Dealer does not see the errors and ask me what the hell was going on. I guess I could say I fat footed it... At least it is fixed... fuck me...

I posted this on another post, but my '19 SR had the brake override malfunction error and I was stuck on the side of the road. Ended up removing my add a fuse that was tapped into my 10amp ignition spot for my foglight switch under the dash. Not sure the exact cause, but I'd recommend not using the add a fuse in that spot and or removing the ignition fuse then reinstall to see if that helps. Maybe it was just a fluke in my case, but when you're stuck on the side of the road any suggestion is better then none. I have an ovtune but no pedal commander and read posts where PC was the issue.
