Those look nice. I was actually thinking of swapping out my Hella 500's for them, as the Hella's are pretty lame for light output.

I may just try this actually. Just read that thread and if it's only gonna be $50 or so then I'll give it a shot!

I would be really surprised if he finished an off road race and the Kragens didn't crack... Hope they don't! As I said earlier, less than 100 miles of washboard in Baja cracked the housing on both of mine...

My (step) son works in off road racing fabrication and prep... He fixed the Kragens with fiberglass, but soon surprised me with Hella 4000 METAL lamps for Father's Day, last year.

Warn your friend of the possible cracking of the Kragens and to have back up lamps just in case. They are cheap for a reason, ABS plastic, Made in China,... since any other HID lamp that size is closer to $400.

Once they crack, they don't point straight anymore... and if he is in a race like the Baja 500, they will probably blow right off his vehicle!

Here are the Kragen's on my truck when we were building the light bar at his shop:

    lightbar034_03e372b9d332e562939f7ea882fd21fd207ea689.jpg

Here is the finished bar, chromed:

Now, here are some 'real' HIDs (Hella) on a race truck with tilt up light bar... can adjust the light beam angle from the truck while driving!

    the 7" kragens are $170?!?!?!

you can get them for like $115 other places. i wouldn't pay $170 for them and i dont think i'd pay $115 either. i got mine off RD for less than $100 per light. $170 for an HID made in china is wayyyy too much
