    I support this!

No shame in bumping an old thread either though. Sometimes it's the best way to find the info you're looking for.

I've met so many awesome people through meets, trail runs, camping. I went from having almost no friends to almost too many  There are a lot of great people on this forum

I'm sure this is regional, and varies by season. During the winter in Colorado, it seems like 25+% of the cars on the road are either Tacos, T4R, Jeep, or Subaru. That's along the front range, get in the mountains, and there are even more.

One time on the way to the football game, I was admiring the TRD sport driving next to me. I didn't realize the right-hand lane was right to turn only, so I sped up and signaled to get in front of him. He honked and flipped me off. Could you say it was a wave of passion?

Yes, seems that Taco's do tend to find and park next to each other....but the wave isn't really there.
Now if we are in one of my 240's, Volvo 240 that is, get waves all the time from others. But then again
there aren't that many left on the road, especially here in the midwest....

so true. i can see a perfectly stock Taco in a line of cars and can tell if they have stock 265/65's or if they "modded" up to 265/70. seriously. a modder's eye is like an eagle's.

Tow's great, 80mph no problem from CA to Moab and back. I setup my rear with air bags, FOX resi shocks and set it at a firm ride.

It’s a nice idea, not sure why it hasn’t started. I’ve been doing the jeep wave to passing jeeps, and get funny looks and laughs back for it. :)

I wave at other tacos cause usually they're staring at the zip ties holding my side mirror together.

If I get a wave, I'd wave back.

I started doing this while riding also after a few times where riders coming the other way didn't even bother to give the cop ahead warning. Yeah, I'm not being friendly.

I really don’t want to go around waving at people all the time. I’m busy driving my damn truck.

I wave at every car on the road. People think I’m a mental patient.

Sometimes you can just tell when another vehicle is owned by an enthusiast, especially when it's an older one that most consumers would've traded in a long time ago. I usually give a wave or thumbs up when I see a clean 1st gen Taco, 3rd gen 4runner, etc, or a newer one with some tasty mods. Most Wranglers around here seem to be of the mall-crawler status symbol variety, but XJ Cherokees get a thumbs up from me as well. Having had a few of those in my family I know it can be a labor of love keeping those going :D, and when I pass one I'm always appreciative of the owner for taking the time to keep such a great-looking vehicle on the road.
