After he said it looked like I needed a hand. I wasn't being strangled by the bar so I was clearly okay.

I let out excess protein. Otherwise it turns to fat. #sciencebetch

I got all y’all beat on unwanted spot stories...

Was squatting around 300, this was over a year ago when that was still close to my max, for singles and was on my third or fourth set so they had become a little slower, but not struggling to get back up or anything. I dropped down in the hole and paused for a quick sec before coming out and as soon as I did I felt warmth on me and saw hands shooting out in front of me like I was Doctor Octopus in SpiderMan. I shot up real quick and slammed the bar forward on the rack and turned around and said “thanks bro” with a douche tone then realized I had my headphones in so it was a loud yell and it was also a rather elderly man. Haven’t seen him since

    Bench?

I have not been in here in far too long. Bulking season was going great (up to about 220lbs bodyweight) and than all of a sudden she just decided to start dropping lbs! I am not ready to cut yet dammit! I have mentally committed myself to a show this year, and I know I'll be a tall string bean up there, but dammit if I'm gonna train for it I might as well just do the thing!

Snows been really good and my gf is back so i havent hit the gym in a couple weeks. I cheese grated both my knees over a rock field last night doing a "moon light" back country ski (it was cloudy so there was no moon light). So now that it hurts to walk up stairs because they swelled up pretty good, i guess its a good sign to go back to the gym. Cant really do squats or deads or knee joint movements so i guess im forced to do chest shoulders and back for a bit.

It’s not really a diet. It’s more of a change to your life. I’ve been doing it for the month, lost 15lbs, and kept all my strength. You damn meat heads probably down GNC iron man vitapacks

I don't know what a GNC iron man vitapack is lol.

I'm familiar with IF and I've got no beef with it, but it's just not for me. I tried it and would get all dizzy from not eating breakfast and gave up after a few weeks. All IF does is cram all your eating into an 8 hr window, which has no extra effect on weightloss. It's calories in vs. calories out at the end of the day, but some people love IF and that's okay. I'm not going to argue about someone when they want to eat because when you eat doesn't matter; it's what you eat. I will say (and you may be aware), of that 15 lbs. you lost, about 11 of it was water.

    Ding ding ding...

Literally no point in starving yourself for 16 hours. If you eat 3000 calories in 8 hours or spread about 24, you still ate 3000 calories that day. Hell if you eat 0 calories for 6 days and then eat 21000 in 1 day you’d do the same thing. You lost weight because you’re managing your intake for the day, not because you sat around not eating until 3pm. You can’t just stroll up to Taco Bell when your eating window opens and go all-you-can-eat until 11pm and expect to lose weight because you do IF. Unless IF stands for “I’m Fat”

All IF does for me is makes me cranky for 18 hours because I want to eat. If you like it that’s great, but don’t come in here saying it’s the best and only way.

IN vs. OUT is all that matters. Micdrop.gif

it's definitely not for everybody but i like it and it works for me. i was IF'ing during my leanest days.

when you're dieting and eating at a large deficit, eating 500 cals per meal 5x a day (or something like it) just isn't satisfying, and i know it by experience. you feel hungry all the fucking time. first couple days/weeks of IF will be brutal as your body becomes used to the new schedule. i'm not really hungry in the mornings anymore and i get all my calories in by eating 2-3 (bigger) meals a day and i get that "full" feeling.

I know big picture is more important than day-to-day, but that's a little extreme lol. For example, if your goal is 4000 calories per day and you had a busy day Monday and only ate 1000 calories, you could add those missed 3000 calories over a few days and come out in the same position; same for when cutting: if my TDEE is 3000 calories and my cheat meal is 3000 calories, rather than starving myself for the rest of the day, I'd continue eating my normal shit, but I'd subtract that 3000 calories over 5-6 days and come out alright.

However, I dunno about eating one day per week. I think after 3-4 days, your muscle is going to start being used to fuel your body. But you were also probably just using that as an extreme example :notsure:

The 2 reasons I didn't like it was because 1. I need to eat first thing or I feel crappy and 2. I can't eat a lot at once. I'd much rather eat 5-6 meals every few hours. I think @ThunderCookies and I are just saying it doesn't matter if you eat 1 big meal a day or eat 24 tiny meals every hour, if you're eating at a deficit, you gonn lose weight.
