I will have only a handfull white/Red LEDs for the V2's..which Is why I'm trying to include them in a matching combo.

Like I said, I'm willing to buy what I have to, to get the v2 Red Maps. I'm sure I won't have a problem selling the excess.

Are the V1s comparable in brightness to the stock map lights? I actually don’t need super bright maps, just want to switch out to red. I’m thinking about just purchasing v1 maps to go with the ultimate dome.

It's kind of hard to tell the different visually in brightness because you are talking about two different colors. You literally need a luminosity tester. With that said, the red v1's are more than adequate in complete darkness, and as I stated in a previous post, perfect for using to look for something while the truck is in motion. I will be happy to keep what I have without question. I am just going for more light and the aesthetics of matching front boards to rear boards. I have my lights set up so that if I hit the switch in the front of the cab on the overhead, all my lights come one and then it is way bright! LOL

Yeah all I had to do was wait until I got home to see the spring. Man these are amazing! Never wanted the sun to go down so bad! Noob question... there is a slight bulge in the middle of the dome, is it safe to stick the wires up next to the socket?

Real estate is tight up there, and mine has a slight bulge too. After plugging in the bulb adapter with the wires, try to keep the wires flat and not bunched up upon re installation. The panel is very flexible.

At first I thought I was totally going to replace my red v1’s but after putting the red ultimate dome in I’ve had a change of heart. The cab of my truck is crazy bright and I am going to stick with this set up.

I've been feeling the same way. It helps that you will have to buy the combo to get the Red v2 maps.

Color seems to be the the same or very close but the dome is much brighter. I dont notice minor color differences very well though so others may feel different.

The factory bulb is 30mm. I squeezed a 31mm bulb in there as well but when I did get the 30mm bulb it installed securely. No harm was done by the 31mm bulb.

The V1s are brighter then the stock map lights. Nice improvement. I have V1s with smoked lens and white LEDs. Quite happy with them.
