I’ll throw a KC decal on my rear glass to compensate

 

So are the bed and brake lights the same except for a red lense, or do the red lights actually have red LEDs in there? I ask because it would look so much better if they were all white / clear lenses. But that would only work with red LEDs.

 

Same led across all models. KC just changes the lens color.

some dumb tester has to check it works for the KC version...... pffft

 

so M6 works but M8 is too big. good to know. will try M7 trying to get the snuggest fit.

when I find the right size the washers will hopefully be changed to rubber. one on the front and the back.

gotta make sure I get the right length for the factory holes.

 

Please tell me you are going to use black bolts and washers! Those look too much like CHROME!

Did you need to pull the headliner, or did you access everything from the exterior?

 

Let me know what you find to work the best. I can even design built-in threading into the model and the printer does does them perfect.

 

It does look pointed up a bit. That might actually make it a little more bearable to drivers behind lol.

 

I know these suggestions are late in coming, but I just found this thread yesterday.

I’m a big fan of BD (no disrespect for KC). Any way to modify the BD mount so the lights are oriented vertically and add a 5th light? I really like the 3/2 combo of brake and bed.

Also, for either mount running 5 lights: since you’re 3D printing the housing, could you angle the 2 outer openings slight downward to be even more functional as bed lights?

 

I need one of these in my life. This almost makes me want to not get a shell.

 

That would be awesome. I might try to find some standard size to see if that might be better. M7 is strange enough that there aren't as many options as I was hoping. Still no guarantee m7 is the right size

The caps are likely going to fare better with the stainless hardware. Black oxide finished hardware have crap rust resistance when placed in an exposed environment. They look good, but rust just sitting in the baggie they get shipped in.
