I've wanted a Miata for a long time, but I would just gut everything you've done except maybe the brakes to make room for a 302/T56/RX8 rear end... ;)

So 10K is a hard pill to swallow considering I could buy a 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth with around 50K on it for around 12k and have a vehicle just as fun to drive, with fewer miles. Not trying to be a downer, just my perspective on a car like that with personalized mods...

    It's a nice car though!

What if you were a gay man in some kind of hoonigan midlife crisis? Would you buy it then?

How much do you owe on your BMW? Cars like this don't change hands at the drop of a hat so you might still have a shot. I had a buyer in Florida who dropped out (or at least said "not for a few months") because his business (gun store) got screwed over by some soccer mom bullshit and he has a big court case to worry about.

No offense taken, I know it's a niche thing that everyone has their own ideas about what to do to a car. Miatas really are a blank slate, if you want a big turbo you can boost the stock motor, if you want a big V8 you can cram an LS1 in it, if you want to rev to 10,000 and wake the dead there's rotary swaps. So what appeals to one person is gonna seem lame to another.

I built mine with light weight in mind, and max revs, with supporting mods to the point that you can stomp it out to redline, sidestep the clutch and keep on going, then toss it into some corners:burnrubber:. That cam has about as much lift and duration as you can manage with a stock ECU with no issues, and the idle sounds appropriately delicious:

It's actually an exhaust cam from the same year car, just flipped 197.5 degrees to work on the intake side!

And 10K isn't my be all end all number... if someone made me a reasonable offer or partial trade for something fun (like, say, some Tacoma stuff, or weaponry, or an ACOG) I'm ready to wheel and deal.

Oh, and the abarth wouldn't be anywhere near as reliable too. ;):D

Still have a year left of payments(3 year loan), would have to check statement to see exactly what I owe. Not purchasing any new vehicles until it is paid for. Had the car for 2 years and have not upgraded anything just yet!
I will ask a couple more people if they are interested. They both have BRZ's and could use an upgrade.

Do you have your resume updated? I'm got some positions coming up in my organization as well as some of my peer's organization. If none of those pan out, I have contacts within the IT staffing circles that might be able to help. Hang in there!

No, getting a 2nd Gen is the downgrade. Those Falcons are nice, built in Utah in house now vs. China.

Don't even get me started on the shit I've seen people do to Miatas... they went from being the "hairdresser car" that no one took seriously, then as the 1st and 2nd gens slipped lower and lower in price people realized "hey wait a second these were actually really excellently balanced sports cars with gobs of modding potential" , and then came the mouth-breathing stance retards who bought a trashed one, put reps on it and went for -25 degree camber.

Ah I got ya. I was thinking if you had something like 2K left on the loan we could work something out.

Ever actually given it a shot? I'm just shy of 6 foot 3 and my beanpole ass fit acceptably well. I did slightly reupholster the seats- I shaved a little foam down here and there and replaced high density foam with low density foam wrapped w/ batting so it didn't sag or bunch. Looks absolutely stock but fits vertical-Americans much better. The bucket seats are even better but you have to be very slender because they are super tight side bolstered. I'm about average in torso-leg proportions, 34 inch inseam.

Yeah Im not exactly "skinny" and Ive got 4-5" on yeah. My brother in law had one. No way I was getting in. Kinda like the one time I got into a Lotus. Needed two friends to help me get out.

Haha ok I gotcha. I know sometimes people at car shows who were just barely 6' dead even would say something like "Your car is nice but I'm too tall for a Miata" and I would look at them like... bitch I just drove here in it!

I managed to cram myself into a Lotus once... it's not a car you exit gracefully.:) Still want the shit out of one though.

Man those are pretty looking. Interesting choices on the bump stop though, it looks like it's an internal one instead of the external control arm bump stop on the fronts?
Also not sure if I want digressive valving... I was all but set on a set of Fox 2.0 performance all around.
