Had some free time today and just couldn’t wait for the video from Orion808 on how to pull the dash apart. So I started pulling it apart carefully.
Actually it turned out to be quite easy.
    D905AE0F-C005-4466-BB20-2F0E37D491DE.jpg
Starting with the side panel on the front passenger pry the panel out first. Then pull the lower panel off. You may have to also remove the lower kick panel by your feet as well.
6C6263C6-F735-4445-A478-168D17451020.jpg Now that exposes the 3 lug nut screws and one screw by the glove box. Upper ones holds the glove box and the two lower on holds the lower air bag.

    6976B7A1-1056-45A3-9B13-435A9DD69EBA.jpg
Once you’ve removed the 2 air bag lug nutscrew there is one more on the lower left. Then pull it out. That will expose one stew more screw behind the air bag that’s holding the glove box. Inside the glove box are 2 screw on top.

If you want to remove the panel above the glove box, you need to remove one screw.
    A3CA93DC-5ED8-4322-A2C8-8023EA4A635D.jpg

Remove the trim that surrounds the radio (head unit). That will give you access to pull the panel above the glove box off.
    DF69F1EB-3466-457A-B26D-6856FA0665A0.jpg

You don’t need to remove the radio.
Go to the driver side and remove the lower kick panel and then remove the screw on the lower panel under the steering. Without pulling it off just loosen a bit to get to the glossy panel with the emergency flash button.
That also just pull straight off along with the engine start and AC controls.

    21DBF44F-5C26-48C8-8BDA-DBE8F57A5E53.jpg
At this point you can disconnect the connectors to get access to the switches below. Just stuck my hand behind the panel to the removed connectors to the USB/Aux switch and cigarette lighter. The USB switch removes by squeezing down a tab in the back of the connector and push it out. There is no nut on the cigarette light to hold it in place which I thought there was. The cigarette lighter also come straight out.
Thanks to Orion808. I connected a USB/Aux extension to inside my glove box. I will be putting in its place a double USB/voltmeter and on the round hole two more USB/voltmeter plug. Now I will have 4 usb plugs. They will be powered by the cigarette lighter connector. Until I decide to change it to something else.

If you want to remove the panel holding the switches you will have to remove the side panels around the shifter. I can see two screws on each side that you will need to access. Since I don’t need to at this time, I have not gone that far. I may next time since I may want to install another USB plug on the back of the console so passengers in the back cab can also plug in.

Stopped by @JerryTaco's house on the way home today and got the TRD fog bezels switched out for SR5 fog bezels. Thanks buddy!! The SR5 fog bezels really do flow better with the lines of the truck. They even match the shape of the bezel frame behind the bulky TRD bezels.

Here are the part numbers if anyone is interested:
    Driver's Side: 52128-04020
    Passenger Side: 52127-04020

    TRD fog bezel

    SR5 fog bezel

TRD on the left, SR5 on the right.

Still slowly coming along on the custom audio system.

Here's the subwoofer boxes post-fiberglass and bondo.

    0130181837.jpg

Here you can see the Arc Audio PS8 processor mounted above the passenger subwoofer box and the power distribution block mounted above the driver subwoofer box. You can see the Alpine PDX-V9 amplifier mounted in the middle between the two boxes as well.

For whatever reason, Canadian TRD Off Roads come with the "SR5" fog bezels. Not sure what the SR5's come with.

Hello all! New here on the forum. I just traded in my 2018 Chevy ZR2 on a 2018 Tacoma SR Double Cab, 4x4, V6. Long story on why I got rid of the ZR2 but it was a lemon and GM REFUSED to help me?!? too bad...suspension was the best I have ever experienced on a off road vehicle. Anyway, got my wheels today....let the fun begin!

RRW RR2-V, 17 x 8.5, 0 Offset! Wrapping them with 265/70/17 C load BFG KO2's. Should have my King RR/Adjuster coilovers Monday. Will post picks as I upgrade!

Anybody in the OC area (714). My truck got broken into last night at about 4:11am. Heard an alarm but didn’t think anything of it. Luckily I live in a gated community so I’ll be checking up on who came in around that time. They didn’t get away with anything of value. However took my tire gauge and some other small car components so I thought I’d post this.

    I think it looks GOOOOOOD!

Maybe the tires would look better if they were half as shiny as your pretty truck? :boink:

He's got to go one way or the other though...make the rest of the truck match the tires and be "a la natural", or make the tires match the truck and give em a little love. I'm not a fan of the goopy wet tire look. They just seem to collect all the dust and everything anyway.

Ironically, Stoner's More Shine does quite well. One coat does the trick for a clean and not looking like a poser mall crawler with that drippy, goopy look. Even 303 does a good job.
