Super casual today: Nixon "The Sentry" on a brown leather band. Nixon uses pretty good Japanese movements for the price. Happy Friday!

Maybe you got a bum watch or a knockoff. I've worn Luminox for 35 years in various styles and never had a problem. A actual Luminox not a knockoff or counterfeit will warranty the gas to light them for ten plus years.

How does the Luminox Light Technology work?
The Luminox illumination glass tubes, called LLT (LLT = Luminox Light Technology) inside your watch are calculated to glow up to 25 years, with a guarantee to glow 10 years as of date of purchase, except when exposed to strong shocks on the watch. Luminox – Always Visible.

Luminox watches offer a constant glow for up to 25 years, even in total darkness. Each Luminox watch employs tiny self-powered micro gas light tubes. These micro gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules) are installed in the hands, hour markers o the dial, and where applicable, into the bezels of our watches. These light tubes are safe to humans and environment.

Luminox watches need no external light source to “charge” the paint on the dial or hands in order to glow as do conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require a push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electro luminescence and therefore do not consume any battery power.

I have no experience with them, but I plan to get one eventually. I can’t imagine them being any more durable than a G Shock, but they definitely look cooler.

I've never had any experience with a G Shock. I hear they're really durable watches. But I do have some experience with Luminox and I can tell you they are durable AF.

My two (well worn) Luminox watches and The Victorinox Swiss Army that I've had for over 20 years. Shitty iPhone picture

Good to hear! And the one on the right looks great. I love it on the Zulu strap.

That's honestly the reason I bought that one. I like the color of the watch and strap. The Black one has been well used as you can tell since almost all the black anodization has come off the band through years of use and abuse. But the watch crystal is still perfect and still runs perfectly. Now if I'd just set the time on them lol. I don't wear them much since I got the Tissot.

46 is a bit big for my tastes, but I have always been a big fan of the Navitimer, even before I knew or cared about watches. They just look so freakin cool. And 70 hour power reserve is pretty impressive.

Yeah, I like larger watches. I like to feel the weight of it on my wrist. I have a huge watch fetish and if you ever watch how Breitling watches are made (along with a lot of other Swiss watches) you understand why you're paying as much for them as you are.
