    Like the story goes...
The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. “Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?” “No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.”

But, until they make a rifle that I can tuck into my waistband and carry under a t-shirt without anybody noticing, I'll stick with a pistol

Agreed. Just the "stopping power" of pistols is way way overblown.

Got to remember the hight of the sight relative to the bore. This is especially a problem with ARs, I've seen people behind cover accidentally shoot the cover, even though they thought they were good on account of the sights being clear.

In what context? EDC at Walmart? A MAGA rally? Throwing back some cold ones with the boys?

At this point when I am giving gun purchase advise, after my typical recommendation (G19) if they don't want to do that cause recoil or what not, I say whatever is reliable that you will carry. First rule of a gunfight is have a gun.

I have a couple LE friends that tell us stories of people that get shot multiple times and live, get out of jail and invite the same people that shot them back into their house only to get shot again!....latest one was shot 5 times I believe (lived last I heard and is in the hospital)...but people need to re-evaluate their life situation if they keep inviting people that shoot you into their homes.

Ive unknowingly had a couple death threats when I was active duty, another friend told me about a guy I was supervising wanted to kill me so my friend told him he always carried concealed and unless he wanted to get shot himself he needed to let it go.

I've seen people shot with multiple calibers with varying results. What's really mind blowing (no pun intended) is seeing someone survive 12ga 00 buck to the face. I don't think he lived long, but long enough for us to arrive on scene and load him into the ambulance. He was conscious and trying to communicate, despite missing the triangle of meat and bone from the bottom of his ear lobes to the bridge of his nose.

I didnt like the AR platform pistol calibers either. Thats one of the reasons I looked into the CZ Scorpion.
Im still debating on if I want to stamp it into an SBR.

Every time someone mentions a Scorpion, the first thing that pops in my mind is the 9x18 variety.

The EVO3 is definitely an interesting piece. If I ever get a PCC, the primary requirement will be that it take Glock mags.

Quite a few years ago a different friend worked for the Sherriffs dept part time and he showed us some pics of a guy shot by his wife only a couple times with a .22 rifle and ended up dying. One shot was through the throat so I assume he bled into his lungs and drown.

I believe that, statistically speaking, more people are killed by .22 than any other caliber every year. At least, before GWOT.

That and stupid people are careless with them because they're a low-power plinker.
