Scion tC or Mazda 3

Alright so my girlfriend Kim is looking to get a new car and she has come down to either the Mazda 3 or the Scion tC. I think both are great cars but I just wanted to know what the rest of TW thought...

Is it the new style Mazda 3 or the old? If its the new, I vote for Tc.

 

my wife owns a scion TC and she loves it (she has had it for 4 years now).

the automatic is very peppy, but i would recommend the manual if you really want more control over the speed and acceleration.

also, the scion TC has very few options.... the car comes with almost every thing as standard equipment for about $20k (2006 dollars). the options for her year were a subwoofer, side curtain airbags, and a super charger ($4K).

its been a good car for her.

 

I like the tC better. I think it's also cheaper.

My daughter has a 2009 Mazda 3s (2.3L 5spd auto) and loves it, but she can't stand the front end on the all new 2010. I would bet the quality of the Scion is better, but I don't know that for sure. The Mazda does have 4 doors and a fairly roomy backseat, but the Scion looks sportier and has a Toyota engine as opposed to a Ford. Both good cars. Tough decision.

You should see the 3rz drift yaris.. its BA. They're so cheap... by next year I'll be rocking one haha
