I added a couple of D-rings to my tool box to hold stuff in place, works perfect when taking propane tanks to be refilled.

Those are the worst... they always end up rolling around....

I got a set of the bedside reinforcements and they have 3 extra tie down points on them and they made carrying those to get refilled so much nicer.

I always place tanks into a milk crate so no rolling around. 20-30-40 lb tanks slide into a milk crate perfectly

How are the temps up there? It was 30 degrees here when I got up this morning, and it's now 18 with a nasty windchill on top of that. I'm sure it must be whipping up there on the mountain.

I forgot I started doing this, so much better when packing to go to camp. When I get to camp, pull out the tank, flip the crate over for a place to put the tank and be able to use a stove at a height that works for me.

I used to commute to Cambridge daily and that's why I put the Coexist sticker on my truck, to help me blend in :D

I ran the #s once and once you factor in insurance, maintenance for a commuter car it's almost a wash with getting highway tires / new wheels and running those. Plus if I got a commuter I'd have to get something fun, and I'd end up modding it and turning it into something less than practical was well...

Gotcha. I'm the sort that if I had that kind of commute I'd have a cheap-ass early 2000's Civic that got 40MPG's, leave it bone stock, and pound the miles on that. Then I'd just drive the truck on the weekends or on particularly bad weather days.
