If bought through Amazon it could be on a separate USPS amazon delivery truck. They are doing interesting things now with package delivery.

I have that one as well. I modded the clamping surfaces with wooden extensions to clamp better and line up the offset on my router.

well Id try to wipe down with some old english first then if you dont like it, strip and refinish, sand as needed if its gouged or scratched up. If its in decent condition it may just need a strip and refinish. If you dont really care about the value thats what I would do.

lots of times the fronts of those are veneer and thats what usually delaminates and comes apart.

Looks like a Bora. They took over Clamp 'n guide. I have a 2', 3', 4', and 8' versions as well as two double sided ones. I used the 8' to match old kirf groove siding.

Outside chance it's Shellac finish? If yes, denatured alcohol would remove the finish without disturbing the patina of the wood.

You can always test this in an out of sight area. A little alcohol on a rag would tell. Just be sure to hang the used rag flat to dry.

Spontaneous combustion is a concern with thinners on rags.

not really a problem unless its peeling up which can be easily glued. From the pic it looked like it was pretty flush. If it gets water damage then it will warp and buckle that is when you have lots of trouble. But depending on how thick the veneer is you can sand a little. But best to take light sanding if needed. Still a good piece ;)

    Synthetic "steel wool" on oak.

Real "steel wool" fibers will get in the pores of oak and turn the wood black.
