I read conflicting opinions of if pressure washing tires is good or bad. Sure makes cleaning them easier though!

Pressure washed mine for years. I have an electric 1800psi I have used for 6+ years. Didn't eat up BFGs, Coopers, or Toyos. I don' do tire shine at all.

But it's not black. I am teasing because I know you hate the black. A coworker just spent $35k on a new black Highlander and it has terrible swirls that stand out horribly in the sun. It had 2 minor car wash (prep) scratches and the dealer made it worse with a polisher.

I'll never own a black anything again. Mine scratches just by looking at it. I won't be sad to see it go for sure. Going to miss talking to you guys when I jump ship in a couple weeks.

Three days ago I posted a mod I did that I promised that I would follow up on some results. The original post can be found on the following link.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-3rd-gen-today.399305/page-3816
    Post#76307.

The trip information is from a trip that I have made around 25 times in the last 2 years. I was averaging 24-25+ MPG before the new wheels and tires but it dropped to 22-23 MPG after. You can see that my MPG on this trip was 25.5 MPG. I will be making this trip another 10 times in the next few months to get a more accurate average but I am very pleased with the preliminary results. This trip is almost 90% highway on I-95 in Florida which is about as flat as you can get. I usually drive with the flow of traffic in the middle lane which is 75-80 MPH. I do not expect the city driving MPG to be very different because the effect of drag is much less.

Wow, although it's not surprising results, it's excellent news to see it confirmed with fairly consistent variables. Thanks for the interim update!!

Yes, I installed it on Tuesday before I posted the pictures. My old body has a lot of scratches and bruises to prove it.

You will enjoy the better mpg as well. My wife has an Escape and that gets over 30 mpg on road trips. I wish you well and hope it works out well for you. You can leave TacomaWorld but TacomaWorld will always be with you. Best of luck to you. You can still lurk.

If it was on the truck on that trip , it does not seem to have helped the mpg ?

Personally, I don't like shiny tire either. Something unnatural looking about them. Nice, clean, matte black tires are schweet though! Again, my opinion.
Try 30370 or I believe it may just be called 303 Protectant now. It's like Franks Hot Sauce, put that shit on everything! Its excellent for tires, even the treads - doesn't make them slick, vinyl, hard plastic, black body cladding. Hell, it probably even works as a "personal" lubricant but I digress.

I was averaging 22-23 MPG before the trip so you can see that I regained the 2 MPG that I had lost from the wheels and tires.
