They wanted $41k MSRP. I paid $500 under invoice so $38,200 and got 1.9% for 72 mo. ORSB, quicksand, All packages (moonroof, heated seats, jbl, all weather floor mats, trd cat back exhaust, door sill protecto, tow). Got a hook up (friend is head finance guy) and paid $860 for the 7 year warranty ;)

Dude I had the exact same truck haggled down to 36k at Carlsbad Toyota. I just didn’t like the granite interior and I didn’t want a moon roof. Plus .9 interest and 12k on a trade in. I could of probably got it down for 35,500 but the moon/Sun roof is a no go for my tall self

I picked up the same truck but sticker was 39,995. I got it for 34k

That calculates out to 6.8% off MSRP. Not sure your buddy did you that large of a solid. Just my opinion. If it works for you though.

I don't remember the actual MSRP off the top of my head but I bought my new 2017 model DCSB 2WD this week for 29150 out the door.

Tried to look back at my emails, did my negotiating on the phone with 3 dealers, this one was I believe $38475, purchased last November 2017, paid little over 33K. Took all week, 2 dropped out, on Thursday the last dealer made a few offers, and still didn't meet my price, I would not step foot in the dealership until they met it, then went and drove it and 3hrs later drove it home. got the 1.9% 72month deal. here is pic minus the ladder rack, running boards, and wind deflectors.

I got hit for clear paint and platinum care plan in the mix and I know that added about $900 that I regret accepting. TRD off roads were listed at $2k more and 100 mile radius quotes from other dealers were no better. They were selling used trucks close to new...... I had just had an F150 purge all of its oil and lock up and I needed a truck in a hurry. Live and learn.

I would definitely also cancel the gap insurance. One of the biggest pros to buying a Tacoma is the excellent resale value which is the best out of all cars made. I believe it is currently 72% after three years. This defeats the purpose of gap insurance.

I totaled my first 3rd gen. Before making the First payment. Not at fault. But Insurance gave me 27900 and i owed 31500. Gap covered the rest. Gap cost 788 over the life of the loan. I was glad i had it.

I won't buy a vehicle without gap. My luck isn't that good LOL

Not entirely true if you live in a high tax state and put little or no money down. A TRD OR AT is about $38k sticker. If you get a $1500 discount off MSRP and do 100% financing with California TTL, that is a few bucks shy of a $40k loan. If you total that bad boy a few months later (like a previous poster), you're screwed. I think a better way is to insure with a company that offers GAP. I think Allstate does it for an extra $7 a month. Then cancel when you're right side up on your loan.
