What kind of siding? If lap siding, seems like self tappers would do the job. If panels, just line every 16" with a 1x ripper. Would save wood and be cost effective.

Was gonna try and attach straight to steel but the corrugation is in all the wrong spots for full sheets and I need a TON of them so trying to use full sheets, need like 60 of them (yikes) which means I need to have something for the ends to lay on, the siding im using is the cheap Tru-wood stuff, its pretty much compressed fiberboard thats been primered.
Glue or Liquid nails may not work since the paint may come off which would kinda suck, lol

I've got to side 2 complete 40' x 10' tall x 8' wide containers, damn thats a lot of surface area!

Yeah I think Im just going to have to do a basic frame in order for them to hit 16" OC. the corrugation of the container is of metric dimensions so looks like a frame will be necessary, I am going to measure the depth of the corrugations, if its a standard thickness I could always bridge any gaps this way, but Im guessing its going to be an odd depth.
If I could just screw on a 1x whatever then I could screw to that at my ends if it lies in the corrugation and runs flush

Thanks for the input guys. Just trying to come across every idea possible from every angle, lol.

Screwing bat's on would be your best bet for vertical, but unless you get 10' sheets you will have to block it at 8' and Z bar flashing and a 2' ripper on the top.

I actually measured the top to bottom and its actually about 9' so Ill have to rip a bunch of 1'ers. but I have a table saw that should help, what you mentioned is pretty much what my plan is.

Buy 2x6 (it's 2 cuts and you get 3). If you're going to make a frame and do the ripping. If you want some help, get my number from Bob. I can help out on a weekend.
