Here's what I was told when I said "OK, I guess I'm going to start the migration to Flickr, since it looked like I could only store 400MB of content in TW media/albums. Sure hope there's no plan to embed Flickr, since this is going to be a lot of work."

"I wouldn't bother. I get what you are trying to accomplish, but it's simply not realistic to be able to control content on a privately owned website."​

...I'm obviously moving to Flickr anyway.

Yeah, there is no way that TW can realistically expect to compete directly with Flickr. Twstatic has almost no functionality plus a very small capacity.

Well I mean if it's just embeds the photos in the thread that's different. I mean if they have the server space to do all the photos people attach and upload daily and embed photo bucket stuff and all that...surely will do Flickr too.

It'll just down size the files to a lower res

TW makes any photo that you drag and drop or upload via the upload file function or from photo bucket or one drive and who knows where into a Twstatic attachment.

There is no reason they can't do that with Flickr urls too

 

So... You would still use Flickr. Just then attached to TW with compressed (800x600 or some such) jpegs because you know that tw will be converting to attachments?

 

No I'd still use links from flickr. TW will just automatically make them attachments. That's how it works. What it did to Dan's one drive links and what it did to all the photo bucket links.

 

I think that is what I just said.

 

Right okay.

So what's your point? To stop using Flickr and use something else? Such as???
