Don't need to be married to get a life insurance policy and name a benefactor. Had my wife as the payout on mine when I deployed prior to her being my wife.

Now she just gets it all by default if I don't have a will in place or updated.

 

Fair enough. My brothers are mine until I'm married again.

I put a payout of 5 dollars to certain members in my family as a jab in the event of my untimely demise.

Every body gets gathered in the lawyers office, few thousand here, few thousand there, then the last few people get called out and they each get handed a 5 dollar bill with a picture of me giving them the middle finger. I won't be around to witness it but it makes me chuckle every time I read the document and update it.
