Life is full of dealing with issues like this ,this will be one of a million of things that aren't agreeable to people, the OP better get used to getting thru them because there will be a million more life problems tomorrow that will be worse than a truck engine code that's getting fixed for free

You need to take a chill pill. It really sucks and I’d be angry initially too but this can happen to any new vehicle. No manufacturer has a perfect track record. Toyota is the best among all of them but doesn’t mean this can’t happen. And this doesn’t mean you have a problem truck either. Give them time to make it right and if they can’t then demand a new truck. Stop jumping to conclusions like a mad man...

2nd gen has just as many problems. Cracks me up every time a third gen has a problem it’s a turd gen but if a 2nd gen has a problem it gets swept under the rug like nothing ever happened. Gotta love Tacomaworld clowns.

Complaining about your truck getting a Check Engine light issue fixed for free under warranty isn't a reason to start a new Thread on a Toyota truck enthusiast Forum and ranting about it, you should be ranting to the Better Business Bureau instead

We go were the factory has never gone before. Maybe there gonna install an oil catch can on it & not tell him. Now that would spell conspiracy! I'd be plenty pissed as its a new vehicle.

I feel your frustration OP I’ve had issues out the ass since 1,000 miles and never really get anything fixed because southeast toyota won’t authorize warranty repairs for some reason but at least sounds like where you are at they seem to be very helpful!! If I had the same issue I’m pretty sure I would just the typical Toyota statement “normal characteristic of the truck” so you have some good things going but soon as you get it back you’ll be fully happy once again nothing like driving a Tacoma it’s a great feeling

This isn't your fathers Toyota.Upper management stock options and shareholder value rule.High quality components installed by well paid skilled technicians is a thing of the past.

The Fiat I bought in 2013 went in for warranty work 3 times in the first 600 miles (2x for emissions codes, 3rd time because the rear seat hinges were rusting). That was before getting the Takata airbag notices.

It really could be worse. I was working for Daytona Harley Davidson in 2013 when they issued a do not drive / do not deliver order on all 2014 touring bikes. The gaskets for the hydraulic clutches weren't punched right which could lead to pulling the clutch lever and nothing happening .really fun when trying to stop at a light...

Too bad you didn't go on a 40 mile test drive first, before purchasing it.
