More shit then I ever planned on doing
I don’t recommend buying an these trucks for his first RC car. Yeah they are cheap but they are also pretty hoopty. One of them already broke the rear link causing the rear axel to twist thus separating the rear dive shaft. Hoping I can get the link to to stick with some crazy glue. For $40 you can get him a much more durable one from target. It’ll last longer then one battery charge. Only reason I bought these was cuz they are Toyotas.

Lol. The whole time I was looking in my rear view hoping not to slow everyone down. @stroM- was right there with me on 35’s and no swaybar. I still had mine back then...

Anytime I see the SAI and the IA like that at work. It's always from the collision center with bent parts they want me to find. Unless it's some how a false reading. Just from my experience.

How many paid holidays do you get? Vacation? :bananadead:

But I hear you. I was freelancing at the time I was heavy into our air racing team. Gave me lots of flexibility. But in the end I wasn't making enough and transitioned back to corporate bitch. But I learned a ton, and I still think of making another break for it. I don't mind working my ass to a nubbin if it is something I believe in and it's all for me...and my family.

Bro.....Shell refinery hires about 25-30 operators every year. Its hard to get on but it is well worth it. About the best benefits you can get. medical/dental/vision/mental health/ 401k +shell pension and stock, paid holidays, paid vacation, and stock purchase options. I think new hires start out at around 85k year

Yeah seeing as it’s all for the family I keep the nose to the grindstone. In a few years, we should be in a really good spot to finally buy a home.

It’s a double edge sword though. I stress because of the pressure to provide sometimes. If I don’t do it, there ain’t no one else. So I’ll take a scooter to Lafayette at 830pm on a Saturday night when the call comes in. I still make sure to find a little quality kiddo time everyday. But the hardest part by far is hearing the boy say, “Dad, you’re always at work” :(

I was researching parts to try to build a Goose-Gear style drawer module, everything was looking relatively reasonable for cost until I got to these little 3-way joint connectors:

    https://8020.net/4042.html

need 8 of the shits for one box, which is almost $150. Fuck that noise, guess I'm going to stick with quick-frame.

I have a cheaper solution. I’ll look for pics and PM you. Not as cool as those $18 blocks though.

This is awsome to hear. Glad the venture is producing some worthy results.

I work in the health insurance industry, and one of my older jobs there was to approve/disapprove member/provider services, including DME (durable medical equipment) and other related patient medical supplies. I was always amazed at just how pricey some of those supplies can run folks, including wheelchairs, scooters, etc. Seems like a good business to get in to if one knows how to do it.

I’ve had a couple small businesses within the last few years, and I too ended up back with the corporate life. Hearing stories like yours makes me want to dive into another venture and be my own boss again. Lol. Can’t wait to hear where you are in a year or two with your business. Sounds like shit is taking off!
