Anyone have a good A/T tire recommendation for our lovely NS winters?

Just got an 07 and it has too wide Coopers on it. Decent tire, but I want a proper sided tire, not a 285 rubbing all the paint off my upper control arms.

I ran duratracs and they were decent when new. They are like 1/2 worn now and not so great in the snow so I found a 2nd set of rims on kijiji and bought dedicated snow tires for the winter.

Cooper ATW has been working out well for me so far. I don't think any winter rated tire is good for winter after the first 1/2 wears off, the soft rubber is only on the outside.

Have you ever thought about the LSVW TRL I beleave they sell them out of gage town for like 1200
Off the mil auction site I've thought about it I was going to buy one and convert it into a off road trl but then I started to think I can not back up trls for the life of me

Anybody know if Canada has 4 door TRD Off roads ? I'll accept the access cab but would like a 4 door

I travelled all the way to Saint John Toyota today to look and see for shits and giggles and the salesmen kept trying to sell me a sport I went in told the guy I want a TRD off road and he said so you want a TRD truck I was like yep we sat down and he's like here's a TRD yes that's a sport I want a off road he said what's the differences I said does a TRD sport have a rear locking diff ? He said no I said there's your differences I want the locker

I just bought the trailer, it is the predecessor to the current LSVW trailer. Backing up a trailer is not bad once you get the hang of it, and it would not take you long to get in the groove if you had your own to play with.

No 4 doublecab TRD Offroads are made for Canada. You'll see them for sale from time to time, but they are all USA trucks that someone brought over the border.

How are they even allowed to do that? It’s basically misleading customers. What dealership was it?

I beleave it was called dr automotive in Moncton

I also think it's just like the Tundra "TRD off roads" where they just add extra skid plates and say it's now a TRD off road

I hate dealing with dealerships I made a offer on a 2012 off-road of 20,000 cash for it being listed at 23,499 I'll have 30,000 to buy one , the guy at Honda was like his words with attitude " oh my god no with taxes in it's gonna be 27,850 and I came down already 800 and you said so your self this is the cheapest around" I was like alright yes your right it is was the cheapest around a few days ago and that's just in Fredericton I said there's one in Halifax a 2014 off road for your price I'll just go buy it for about the same price with a lot less Kms dick and I walked out he said if you change your mind call me

Ya, dealers seem to be under the impression that they are sitting on gold in the Maratimes. I hunted for a Tacoma for a solid year and a half before I found mine, for a reasonable price in what I wanted.

I was under the impression that you could get a SWB double cab here but only with a TRD package and 6 sp manual. I have to have an auto so finding one is almost impossible until you cross the border. Long box is seriuosly more practical but I still love the look of the short box. My sportchair almost fills the box ...lol. Lately I have been leaning toward a 4R (hate the back end and that stupid 3rd row seating eats interior room and makes the floor foolishly high... Not very many around without the seating option either) or maybe a Lexus GX (bigger money) to replace the FJ when the time comes.

Yes, you can definitely get the doublecabs here in short box with manual transmission (I have one) but while you can get the TRD Sport you cannot get the TRD Offroad. The major mechanical difference being the rear locker.

Ahhh....gotchya. Never thought I would ever use a locker when I got my FJ. Had always managed with open diffs..... But my first day on the rocks proved me really wrong....lol. Great insurance. Must be why the rear ends of locked FJ's are popular with the Taco crowd.

I would really like air lockers. It will take me some time to get there, especially now that I need to set up an off-road camper first :)

You can get the TRD Off Road in double cab short box (automatic only) starting with the 2017’s. They’re all over Calgary.
