Lol, the gas cap was the reason they gave me the second time the CEL came on.

having my back seats flood with water, failing air pump, grinding front diff bushing (when it was stock height), warped drums (that the dealer acknowledged and said Toyota would not warranty, even though it was before the 12k break warranty) cruise control sticking gears and keeping the engine revd at 4500 RPM, howling rear end (as a certified tech I know good and well a new diff should not make any noise especially not loud enough to hear over the music) oh rust in the rear (I live in the south). And last week the truck would not engage reverse gear. Not trying to argue but let’s be real I’ve owned this truck less than a year and drove off the lot with 2 miles so not like someone else effed stuff up

yet you stillown the truck? and you invested more money into the truck with modifications? doesn't sound right you investing more money into a truck you are having numerous problems that the majority of owners never have/had

a leaky gas cap gasket in the first thing they will check when a code for an emissions leak is detected, you can find numerous threads in all GENs forum if you search the code that is thrown many times its the simple things that will throw a code.

Put me in the camp that thinks you'll soon be happy with the truck and free extended warranty. Putting you in that Corolla (really, a Corolla substitute for a truck??) is just their way of helping you appreciate the Tacoma once you get it back. It's pretty nice of them when you think of it that way...

For a moment I thought I was in the Jeep Wrangler forum. You know- where vehicle problems are almost expected, rather than the exception? Haha

Never fun to buy something new and then 1) have problems and or 2) get the dealer runaround regarding solutions.

Still, I’d like to think that Toyota’s issues are more the exception than the rule.

Will only be a matter of time before I’m in a Tacoma, I believe.

Hope things get taken care of as best they can, given the frustration you’ve been through.

Personally, fuck anyone who says you are overreacting. You saved up 40k to buy your first brand new vehicle and it’s a POS. Toyota went from the best selling mini truck with crazy good reviews to terrible with the third gen and they know it and do not enjoy it. I don’t recall so many TSBs on a vehicle ever, and stupid stupid shit that shouldn’t be an issue on a brand new Toyota. Maybe if they went back to building them all in Japan they could clean it up. I feel for you man, hopefully your dealer sticks behind you and does right by you but, seriously, anyone who says you are overreacting can get fucked.

You need to relax. I had a bad High pressure fuel pump that was replaced at 5k miles. At 23k now and everything is fine. Shit happens. Things will get fixed and your vehicle will be fine.

rotors just don't become warped at 22k miles, usually they become abused by the driver and then warp
