    Very busy, very cramped downtown parking lot. He backed into the spot with a 12 foot trailer and was COMPLETELY outside the space with his truck.

    Truck ran a red light making a left turn, I had the green. Knew he was going to do it as he had creeped into the intersection while he was waiting to turn so I was safe, gave him plenty of room. Lifted Dodge dually. With those stupid spiky things on the lug nuts.

    This happens all the time in Utah, cars are allowed to enter the intersection while waiting to turn, so at the end of a green light you sometimes have one or two cars that end up turning after it turns green for cross traffic.

    But I've heard that in other states you can't enter the intersection before making the turn? :notsure:

    I don't think you're supposed to do it anywhere.

    Occasionally get a few people who are turning left at an intersection with no green arrow and they jump out just as the light turns green, trying to beat the opposing traffic going straight :facepalm: people just making up their own rules I guess

    I pull into the intersection when waiting to turn if I'm the first car. Once it turns yellow or red and the cars have stopped trying to whiz by I make my turn. I was taught this in Driver's Ed and as far as I know it's fine to do. Ive seen plenty of cops do it too.

    That's how I was taught in driver's education as well. People do it all the time in TX. If you are in the intersection waiting to turn and the light turns red, you don't have any other choice really

    Yea its perfectly legal, the only option actually, to make a left turn with no dedicated turn light. It's the assholes that blow red lights that cause the left turners to look bad.
