This is almost as bad as when spoonman made a go fund me for his long travel upgrade or whatever. And got flamed horribly.

Regardless of whose at fault, there are better things for a gofundme page.

Mine had an electronic oil level sensor, but you could buy a dipstick for it to use. Also needed a vacuum pump to change the oil.

Omg thank you! I went back and looked, and goodness what I accidentally typed was atrocious! I would never want that poor young man with a mans beard but no actual real adult man accountability to feel like I was uncaring in the problems he created for himself all in the name of being an attention whore because his actual well of confidence and self esteem have run dry.

I think what bothers me most about the gofundme , is that it alludes the failure of his built and modified TRD overland rig is preventing him from visiting his daughters or going to work......on top of what I consider “pulling the veteran card”. Serving your country entitles you to respect, not a carefree life absolved of responsibility. If your obligations as a dad or employee are so tight that an engine failure shuts you down, maybe you should skip on the Ray 10s and save for a rainy day, or drive a civic, like the rest of the working classes.

Exactly. One can take a quick look at his truck and he has over 10k of aftermarket stuff. Probably closer to 15k. Has a motorcycle to get around it seems as well. But hey the American dream is living in debt but extravagantly.

When my family needed money to stay in their house I sold my truck and funny thing I drive a Civic with 260k miles right now.

If you want the "benefits" of more air via aftermarket filter while still keeping the OEM filter, look into the deck plate mod.

I run OEM oil filter and air filter.

Maybe in Canada, but where I am from, it can only be expressed in the proper Kings English.

Agreed, but he is just one example of many on here that seem to follow the crowd who choose to do it for the gram. Staring at truck parts all day can have an adverse effect on the pocket.

Back on topic, before any of that gofundme talk, i had experienced some particles getting past the pro dry afe....since than i have gone back to the oem filter and never had an issue. lost some airflow but at the cost of the longevity of my engine.

The plot keeps thickening. Chipped parts falling into the engine, and now other instagrammers are in the “shame game”, tagging all the people and such.

Why do we not know the whole story? My best guess: the whole story probably puts the blame squarely on the owner, which is why we’ve heard nothing about lawyers or legal threats, or the fact AFe, and a 2nd Toyota dealer also denied warranty.

No disrespect, but really not interested in this fellows drama party.

He made a mess and wants somebody else to clean it up.

The thread has some interesting posts however.

So like I said before, forget him and his forgettable problems....

You are right......it’s like a scab I can’t stop picking at......it’s the “selected information” that bothers me.....but on your advice, I will opt out of the saga.

Nobody really gives a shit about this “brother” and his problems. If he wants to be a bad ass overlander, he needs to learn how to fix his own shit with his own money like the rest of us. Until he does that, I don’t give a fuck about his transportation, visitation, dd214, insta cred, or whatever else is in this crybabies life.
