I just had my 2016 TRD Sport lifted a couple inches and now I'm getting a vibration from 0-15 mph. From what I've read about on TW it sounds like my needle bearing needs replacement.

Today I tried switching between 4x4 and 2 wheel to confirm the symptoms. Now I'm confused!
In 4x4 I don't seem to feel the same vibration, but when turning at slow speed (0-10 mph) I feel more of what I would call a "rumble" from the front end. It happens turning in both directions, and feels a lot worse than the vibration I feel in two wheel.
The rumble doesn't happen at all in 2 wheel drive, but I do get the "vibration" from 0-15 mph. The vibration does seem more pronounced when the wheels are turned.
I've got to be taking a few 300 miles trips for work over the next couple weeks and now I'm afraid I'll cause damage if I can't fix it first.
Do I have multiple problems, or one issue behaving differently in 4x4 vs 2 wheel?
They did give it an alignment afterwards.
    Here's my setup:
    Bilstein 5100s all four corners
    OME 887 coils
    Toytec progressive AAL

Turning with 4x4 on hard surfaces well feel funny and normal.

I thought needle bearing noises that are eliminated happen at higher mph. I'm sure someone will chime in.

Are you in 4wheel drive turning on dry pavement? If so, that's the rumble you feel. Do it on grass, snow or eve wet pavement, and try a wider turning radius. I bet it's not as bad under those circumstances.

You're right. I knew that, and I'm sure that's it. I become an idiot when I think I screwed something up and need to recover!
Today was the first time using 4x4 on dry pavement in a while and I was so focused on identifying anything unusual that I completely forgot that was normal!
So, back to the vibration in two-wheel drive from 0-15 mph. Does that sound like the needle bearing, or maybe just a bad alignment?
Most importantly, am I causing damage to the shaft or anything by driving it like this?

Bro, I'm definitely not the guy to ask about bad vibes. I'll tag a guy that Eats and Sleeps Tacos, and has installed a couple lifts in his time. @EatSleepTacos is the guy you need to talk to.

Did you get it aligned after the lift was installed? If not, it's pretty much a requirement as you are changing the alignment dimensions with the lift and they will need correction.

What your feeling is a failing needle bearing and can possibly cause damage if a broken bit of the bearing falls into the front differential. I recommend replacing with the ECGS bearing as soon as possible. The vibrations in 4wd while turning is the binding of the transfer case. I would not recommend using 4wd on pavement as that binding can damage your 4wd system

Is the vibration a shudder that you feel upon acceleration? If so, that’s your rear driveshaft out of whack.

If it was your needle bearing, it would be prominent at higher speeds (up to around 35-40). To rule that out though, drive in a straight line when you can feel the vibrations. Flip it into 4hi and it will go away if the needle bearing. If it’s still there, it’s likely your rear driveshaft causing it.

    Thanks for the help guys!
I think you are right. I only feel it on acceleration and coming to a stop. I read up on how to measure the angles and determine what I need for a shim.
I plan to try it tomorrow as the it was too freakin' cold today.
If it is the rear driveshaft angle that needs correction am I okay to drive until I get the shim in place?

Yes! I have a slight shudder on take off, and have no intention of fixing it

Although the fact you feel it coming to a stop is weird.

It's more like when slowing down, just before a stop. It's not as much as accelerating, and may just be my oversensitivity to it right now. I'm still getting used to my new BFG K02s at the same time.
This is my first Tacoma and I love it, so I'm a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to any sound/feel out of the ordinary. I'm the same way with my bikes, except that I know a lot more about them than trucks so I'm a lot more comfortable with all my modifications on them.

About a month old (<1K miles) ago I put on new wheels and tires. I went with 265/70 R17. They feel just a little bit "rougher" on the road, but I love them.

Looks good! Not that it’ll help your vibes, but run them around 32-34 psi for a smooth ride. These trucks don’t need a lot of pressure, even if load E.
