yeah i have heard the same thing. first time for me going to korea. not bad, only took 14.5 years. Also humphreys is the only place i can go. hooray aviation.

 

I was there to do someone else's job.. 9 month TDY I had fun though. I'll pm you a restaurant right outside the gate owned by a Canadian dude and his Korean wife. Best chicken I've had. But be careful he looks to drink with you... a ton. They have a plaque of a group picture I'm in with our unit patch.

atleast you were there for only 9 months. Ill be there for 12. the best part is one of the apache units here at Carson will be there around june time frame so ill probably see a few of the people i already know. plus have my shop has left here since nov to now and more in may and july going also.

For your 30 day R&R you should try to visit Australia/ New Zealand. Everyone I knew, who had a Korea tour, said this was #1 30 day leave spot.

 

I’m not sure how much leave I’ll end up taking there. Don’t feel like spending money to go anywhere and not going with out the wife. She’s staying here in Colorado while I’m gone. Shed kill me if I went someplace like that with out here.

 

You can get a lot done in 5 hours when you’re there first one at the hill.

Got the tube clamp made for the tube notcher. I don’t trust the silver bolt. I’m going to pick up a grade 8 with a handle to throw on there not that it needs it. This clamp interlocks with each other and that tube isn’t going anywhere. I just need to line it up and make sure it’s square.

After a few shim here and there. I got the notcher squared and in line. Pretty happy with how it turned out. There is a little gap on the square but it’s because of a little piece of metal that wasn’t cut completely. A few rubs from a file and it will be good to go.

 

I'll give it a solid try!
