    Thats some bullshit man.
    Sorry for the loss.
On a side note I went barreling through a frozen creek once and broke through. Smashed so hard on the other side that i mangled the junk trd skid plate and screwed up my steering rack. No air bag went off.
Also recently did the same thing on a wash out. Hit hard enough that my signals and wipers turned on. Rack is fucked again. No air bags.
This must have been some smash....or an issue with the airbag system.

I live just outside of Carlisle and I’ve never been to the truck nationals. lol. Use to live about 2 miles from the entrance to the fairgrounds. Did you go with a group, or go by yourself?

I went by myself, but I met up with a TW member who goes by the name "Salty_Dog," and there were some Taco owners from Connecticut who weren't on TW...

I didn't ask that many questions. I just knew A/C and heat worked, and there was no engine damage...

    bush-road clusterfuck
A year ago I bought an 06 AC for cheap (about two K$). Former owner just hit a mule deer at about 75mp/h. Deer went trough the radiator and everything was baked to the engine front. It did damage the flimsy plastic bumper quite a bit as well. Airbags did not deploy. A few years before that he was going very fast down some bush road and got two flats after impact with deep potholes... passenger side lower LCA and mounting bracket got bent out of shape.... no airbags went off.... (btw, right now after a few weekends of work and 2k $ it's the nicest truck I ever owned driving fine as new)..

Didn't even think about it because I wasn't technically off-roading. It was a gravel road...state owned.

I'm going to school in Indiana. There's a place called Badlands, but I wasn't off roading when the accident happened...just a state owned country road. In Buffalo, unfortunately I don't know of much around off roading wise.

If you hit hard enough to pop all of the airbags, push in a fender, break headlight mounting tabs my guess is that there quite a few other things that are out of whack on that truck. If it were me I'd happily walk away and buy another.

Sorry to hear man, had an incident just last week. Too much sentimental value to let them total it; I said - we can rebuild her we have the technology.

Thank god nothing serious. Other than my back and shoulder feeling out of wack. The relentless bumper saved the majority of the truck.

I thought the airbags were deceleration based, not impact. Guess it's both? Maybe it's the 3rd gens that are deceleration based. Anyone know for sure how they work?

The airbags deploy with accelerometers...we must not have hit hard enough. There also might be some kind of disable in four low, which it doesn't sound like this guy was in

If it came down hard enough for the headlight mount to break, it came down pretty damn hard.
