Third gen pro is well beyond this kit. Although I guess it depends on what net result you are referring to. Lift, I'd say so per the above. Performance? No.

 

I understand from the thread that an OR can expect a small gain in performance from stock shocks. For a fifth of the Fox kit it seems like a steal. Thoughts?

 

I'm not bashing this kit, mine is on its way to my house as we speak. My new leafs are sitting in my garage waiting. For the price this is as much of a no brainer as it gets.

 

What rear leafs will you be installing?

 

Dakars. Not sure still what I'm going to do exactly. I did order the 1/4" taco lean spacer as well to give me a bit more flexibility. I'd have to disassemble one strut, but that's no biggie.

 

I’m really thinking about picking up this kit. I have a 2016 TRD OR LB with a cap and a SSO Slimline Bumper and x20 winch.

I have a set of Hellwig helper springs out back already that is giving my truck a 3/4”-1” lift/reducing bed sag.

I’m thinking with the lift the new suspension will make up front and the weight of my bumper/winch the truck should sit nearly perfect? What do you guys think?

 

Any rear leaf recommendations for a second gen? Looking to keep stockish height. I'm thinking Icon AAL. Any other good ideas?

 

Same as above for third gen with these shocks - recommendations?

Are you guys looking to lift the rear (ex. AAL, blocks, etc.) to get some rake back after installing this suspension?!

I wonder, since neither the 2nd or 3rd gen Pros have any rear lift and are leveled. I dont understand why you would be required to lift the rear when installing a TRD suspension that does not require any on its intended application.

I feel like it defeats the purpose of buying an OEM Genuine TRD part if you are just going to modified the suspension anyways (for those that a pro to this suspension was to maintain genuine parts/warranty)

On the same subject, I was adviced that adding any lift to the rear will decrease the life of the shock significantly since it was not designed for a lift. It would be like lifting the rear with your stock O/R shocks. Any thoughts on this?

 

Rears of this kit on my 2016 Sport. Running 2017 Pro wheels and tires. Measurement is passenger side without driving before and after.

 

So a total of a 1/4 inch?

I want to see some more numbers. Hopefully others will chime in soon with measurements and driving impressions because there seems to be some confusion.

 

I think those are rear measurements... so essentially no difference before and after lift as expected.

 

And about an inch lower than the front.

 

Did you end up level in your gen2? With 1.75" in front?

 

At ~$600 for the all 4 shocks, the way I see it I’m essentially getting the rears for free. So if I add 1.5” of lift in the rear and have to buy longer travel 5160’s in a few years I’m totally ok with that.

 

Yeah I agree the deal is great and your logic makes sense on later replacing them if needed.

I was just curious why people are wanting to lift the rear. I figured people are getting this kit because they like the stance of the Pro.

 

I'm lifting the rear so it's not lower than the front. Also my truck usually has 4-600# in the bed so the bro lean would be strong. And any bro lean is too much bro lean.

 

I’ve got a shell and roof rack so my rear is already starting to sag. I’m close to level stock. Full disclosure, I haven’t ordered any AAL or leaf packs yet, just the kit discussed here. I won’t be installing anything for 4-6 weeks. I’ll watch this thread closely for those ahead of me and adjust as needed.

 

Yeah it's completely level, actually got a even 2" of lift on front, but only 600 miles on the install. Probably will settle at 1.75" later on
