So the other day I broke a CV axle while mudding, I went to O’riellys and bought a brand new one with a lifetime warranty. I took the old one off with no problems and slid the new one in, I took it out for a test and floored it with it in 4 wheel drive and it broke in the same place. I needs some help quick.

What type of surface were you on when you floored it? Are the tires all the same size?

I was on pavement but I’ve been able to floor it plenty of times with it in 4 wheel drive, all tires are 31’s

How much do the Napa axles cost? The inner boots on both of my cv axles are gone.

My thoughts too. Probably to see if it would break again...

Ya I dunno, I personally wouldn't floor it on ice like he said...Sounds like he caught traction really hard....and snappy.

It should be able to hold, regardless of what surface I’m on .

Did you transition between ice and pavement? But you are right - better to have it break on a street than on a trail ...

    You're right. It should hold.

I'd spend the money on an OEM axle.

The old one had 240000 miles on it, a brand new should be able to hold for atleast 5 minutes .

CVJ refurbished OEM axles with high angle CV boots would be the best solution.
